There's an AWESOME picture of Suarez with the dog cone floating around the internet. Maybe we should start spraying the other teams with "Bitter Apple" so he stops biting people. How the heck do they keep letting this guy play with the other kids though? Seriously. Seven games for biting the Dutch guy?

This season, I'm taking it easy, as there's a LOT going on in my bubble. We bought a share of a community supported garden, so that's where a bulk of my produce will be coming from. I did however plant: - Peas - Pole beans - Garlic - Welsh onions - Green onions - Bok Choy - Beets - lettuce - Haldi / Tumeric I also have -…

I find that with challenges, it's better (for me) to repeat the day until I master it. I did C25K and had to repeat W5D3 at least three times before I could do it. After that, it was easy peasy!

I'd have to go with: "Baby, it's cold outside" because the male vocal simply doesn't get the fact that she's just not into him.

What Niner said is exactly what I've experienced. My morbidly obese relatives accused me of being ana/bul at 5'7" and 145lbs because I was clearly too thin and "wasting away!" Mind you, grandma's weight took out both of her knees and she needs a scooter to get around. Every single member of that side of the family is a…

Going on almost 20 years of "Wheat hates me" eating. The bad news is that yes, it sucks, especially as you adjust to it. Even with the prevalence of GF dining, there are still going to be days when it's tough. Birthday cake in the office, fresh bread at a restaurant, and that one friends who says "What about WHOLE wheat…

Hi! Thanks for having an open diary. Your food logging looks great! I didn't notice any exercises in there since March though. The way that MFP works is that it's based on Net intake, or what helps me remember it, meaning what's left in your "net" after everything else has been added/subtracted. That being said, if you're…

I'd like to drop ~30lbs ==OR== to be able to fit back into a particular pair of jeans that I was able to wear before I got married.* If I can fit into THOSE jeans, then I will officially be able to fit into everything else in my closet, including a bunch of really cute dresses and things I should be wearing to work. *The…

About 307 miles for me.

Hi! My society name is Brit and my long-term goal is to drop the 30+ lbs that I put on since getting married. While I'm not going this year, I'd be up for a "10 lbs by Pennsic" challenge. Maybe we can get a daily, multi-tiered (to meet various fitness needs?) fitness challenge going?

What a wonderful transformation! I think the current pictures look good. At this point, I don't think anyone would criticize you for just maintaining. That looks like a good weight for your frame and height. :) Congratulations on your awesome transformation!!

We're buddies only in the sense that we've gone to yoga and to the gym together. That's where things stop though. We don't workout together-together for several reasons. 1) I have my routine, he has his. We're very rarely both doing cardio or both lifting at the same time. 2) We like having time for ourselves. I know he's…

False negative indeed!!

I agree with what the others have said so far. I guess you could chance it based on how bad your reaction is? If you're just sensitive, taking risks is not that big of a deal. If you're allergic, it's best not to take the chance. From what I know of allergic reactions though, they get worse with exposure and age, so...…

This... I put on a few pounds every time I fly somewhere.

I find that a water bottle with a straw helps me not pay attention to the water that I'm drinking, which gets me to drink more. A couple of other things to try: - Lemon or lime juice (as someone suggested) - If you're in the UK, try using just a little bit of "squash", like Ribena. Add just enough to gently flavor the…

THIS... Being a jerk has less to do with gender and more to do with the character of each party involved. Healthily self-confident people (as opposed to those with narcissism, control issues, or passive-aggressive behaviors) are probably not going to play with others' emotions or to have their own emotions played with. If…

Cheers to you on your progress both with your mental and physical well-being!! Keep up the good work!

Woot! Welcome to the group! If you need help or support, you'll certainly find it here. I've been wheat-free for more than a decade, closer to two. My husband is not GF, so I've had to get creative in finding things that are GF but aren't miserable or cost-prohibitive. Eventually, it gets easier. :D

Heh. When I first shown how to do it, that was my response. But... If you pop the stem, there's a thin piece of peel on the inside / underside of the mushroom. That's what you use to peel the mushroom. It comes off in little wedges.

This post got me thinking... I was initially going to say that "Oh, yes. I've overcome it." I now keep healthier options in the house. I chew gum and I drink green team. Then I realized that the moment I DO have crap in the house and everything hits the fan, that no, I haven't overcome it. If anything, I've gotten better…

I can't find a picture, but I have three, depending on how much fresh fruit and veggies I'm bringing with me. On "salad" days, I need the extra containers so that the ingredients don't co-mingle and get gross. I have: - A yellow backpack that can hold up to three 6-packs of seltzer (for the sake of comparison) and whatever…

This... If you've never had that area waxed, I'd start with cleaning up the edges of the hedges, to see how your pain threshold is. Even more important than that though, is to make sure that you go to a reputable place to get it done the first time, regardless of how much landscaping they do. Yes, it's probably going to be…

I like this idea, if only because 1) you can eat the marshmallows, whereas raw potato chunks are nasty and 2) small chunks of potato around the house are more likely to get old, moldy, or gross. No one ever questions an old marshmallow.

"Spud gun" where I'm from involves several pieces of PVC piping and shooting an entire potato out of the tube... The ENTIRE potato. More like wasted potato skins, if you ask me... This looks mostly harmless and like it uses pieces of a single potato. Besides, maybe you can show her how to grow a new potato out of the…

Heh. I lived in southern England for a year and quickly learned to eat "properly." We consider it "weird" to eat with the butt-end of the fork up. And the pressing the food to the back of the fork is equally weird. But when I travel abroad, I do the back of the fork thing so as not to stick out. ;) And brace yourself! We…

Cooked tomatoes, cooked tomatoes with cheese, and baked beans are most definitely considered odd things for breakfast, by American standards. I've never seen them on breakfast menus here in my 30+ years. Baked beans are a savory served as a side at barbecues or served with slices of hot dogs mixed in (Franks 'n beans) and…

My contribution is less about food and more about silverware. I'm in the US. Many of us do this weird cutlery dance thing when cutting food with a knife. We'll hold the knife in our dominant hand, the fork in the other, with the back of the fork facing up. We'll cut what we're eating, put down the knife, switch the fork to…

I'm assuming by squash, you mean something like Ribena or one of the other things one adds to water to make it taste better. You might want to read the labels on those as well, just to make sure there aren't artificial colors or sweeteners that could be upsetting things. And eggs are allergens for some people, so if you're…
