The Optimum Nutrition stuff is pretty tasty and mixes well.

This. Also, hitting those legs will really help burn those calories and make upper body lifts on your feet more stable. Everything benefits from legs.

Following the IIFYM principle probably saved my life.

It doesn't hurt you to throw up during a workout. A lot of factors can contribute.

Not really. Sugar = carbohydrate and will only make you gain fat if you are eating over your maintenance level of calories.

The evidence from peer reviewed medical studies suggest the opposite of what you are posting.

Your body would only store excess protein as fat if you were in a caloric surplus. If you are dieting, you are trying to lose fat, not muscle. Getting adequate protein during a diet spares muscles.

Stay well hydrated and lose the weight at a pace of about 1 pound per week. You will have less sagging. Also include weight training in your workouts.

The post workout protein shake is a myth. You don't need to eat within 45 minutes of a workout.

It won't hurt you as long as you don't consistently go into a caloric surplus for your individual needs.

Up your protein intake maybe. If you are burning too many calories with your intake your body will use muscle mass. A higher protein intake will offset this mostly. Was the loss sudden or did it happen over a period of a few weeks. 1600 calories a day doesn't sound like enough with your activity level. Is 1600 net or gross?
