http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXE5LOPXkVk Try watching this. It looks pretty good. I don't agree with him saying that sit ups don't work because my abs definitely react. Perhaps just vary the way you do them. Basic crunches are boring. Add in legs. Do them in a plank position. Just use your legs. Vary it. Using exercise…

How? They're all 3-2-1, aren't they? Very odd. Perhaps she uses moves that she doesn't need to explain. That might chop a minute or two off at most. I love that it's so structured. It means that when I get to circuit 2 cardio I know it's almost done. I did love circuit 3 on level 2, I'm going to miss the military presses…

I've just done Day 20. That means I'm onto level 3 tomorrow. Eek!

Thanks guys :)

Day 19 was done today (technically yesterday). I'll be saying farewell to level 2 tomorrow once I'm done. Level 3 on Sunday! Good timing because I'm starting to get used to this level. Not quite sure what to do afterwards. I don't think anything could make me sweat so much in such short time. Might just make my own circuit…

Weighed in this morning. June's starting weight is 195.2lbs (13st 13.2lbs). I neeeed to get comfortably away from that 14st line. My boyfriend's planning on losing a couple of pounds ready for the World Cup because he knows that will be full of what I like to brand 'beige food' (sausage rolls, any breaded meats etc). He's…

Day 18 done. Phew! I'm enjoying this. The endorphins I get during this shred... its goooood! I love circuit training, too, because when I've done one bit I get such satisfaction. The shred has so many bits in it that I can feel good for. I love circuit 3 of level 2 because I feel most comfortable with it. It pushes me the…

Mornin! Well, afternoon but only just. It's my 19th birthday this month (on the 19th, too) so I'm hoping to drop a few pounds by then. I've just finished day 18 of the 30 day shred (doing the normal 10 days per level so i'm on level 2, moving to level 3 on sunday). I upped the calories a bit (but still exercising every day…

Haha, absolutely! I'm still quite near the beginning of my loss so I can't really look back that far but I do get a bit frustrated when clothes that I adore don't fit me anymore. I wore a beautiful dress last night which means alot to me because it's the first one I had to get a smaller size in and that's getting to be too…

Your dietician surely couldn't have gotten you in before breakfast. Perhaps 1pm was the next in the chain of convenient times. I always weigh in after going to the loo in the morning. Your weight fluctuates all day so if you keep the weigh in time consistent you'll get an accurate picture. I'd say use the same time as me…

I nearly gave up this morning and took a day off but I pushed myself and forced myself to do it. 270 calories burned in 27 minutes. I'll take that. Day 14 done.

That's incredible. I hate the word 'inspiration' and all forms of it but that's spurred me on. This morning I was nearly ready to give up because relationship issues got in the way of my focus. Thankfully they're sorted now and your story on top has put perspective back in there. Thankyou :)

I only use 0.68kg (about 1.5lb) weights. It depends how huge you want your muscles to be. My small weights are definitely enough to keep me sweating. I have heavier but don't want to progress because I think that would be too difficult.

That's awesome. I'm hoping I get a shift in weight because my scales have been stubborn recently. I hope the studying paid off and your exams were managable. Well done for going out and not drinking. I've been challenging myself to do that for a long time and I always give in.

I'm nearly half way through the shred so I'll join this thread! I'm on Day 13, just about to do today's workout. I did Level 1 for 10 days which was a good length of time. I've not had any dramatic weight loss yet but my muscles are appearing. I'm getting quite muscley calves which I don't want so after the shred I'll be…

I burn between 260 and 300 calories each time (I have a HRM and weigh 195lbs ish). I used to log it as circuit training before I had a HRM. It's a good estimate, if sometimes a few calories out. Also, it's not 20 minutes - it's more like 27. I did Level 1 for 10 days and I'm onto Level 2 now. Tomorrow will be day 3 of…

Did Day 12 today which was better than yesterday. Also, I got bored this evening because its my first free day in a loooong time so I made a workout playlist on iTunes, loaded up a stopwatch and made up my own 3-2-1 workout with three circuits. Burned 240 calories in 23 minutes. Not half bad!

Hi :) Well done on the 14lb so far! This place is awesome, you'll love it :) Ooh, also noticed you're from South Yorkshire. Whereabouts? I'm from Doncaster but go to uni in Birmingham

Yes! Yes! A hundred times yes!! If I'm out in a club and I hear that song, I burn off the last drink for sure!

Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred includes some really good arm exercises with weights. Also, Davina McCall's 30 Minute Workouts have some. If you type in Google 'arm exercises', you might find something. I usually go to google images first to see if I can teach myself through there.

Day 11 done. First day of Level 2. WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!? I definitely did not enjoy Level 2 as much as Level 1. I can't wait to say goodbye to it and hello to level 3. Jeez. The hard work, for me, started at circuit 3. I still managed to burn 280 calories. Perhaps that's because of TOM but whatever.

He's been on a liquid diet, though, and has been overdoing the exercise. I definitely wouldn't follow that example.

^^ Best advice!! Stress is a maaajor influence!

I did Day 9 this morning at 5.30am because I had to go to ITV at 9am and needed time to shower and get myself ready. Thankfully I made myself go to bed at 8.30pm last night because I was tired anyway, due to the heat here, so it wasn't THAT bad. Definitely looking forward to giving it everything I have to see off Level 1,…

Apparently you should rest your muscles for a day after a workout but considering Jillian's 30 Day Shred reeeeally works the muscles and is meant to be done every day with no days rest, I suggest taking it easy with some swimming or other light exercise like walking or whatever.

http://www.diethealthclub.com/calories-burned/calories-burnt-in-sauna.html On an average a person weighing 160 pounds will burn around 300 calories in 30 minutes of sauna. An infrared sauna claims to burn up to 1000 calories in just 30 minutes, but is this just a sale gimmick or a truth we shall find out. Besides burning…

I'm using a HRM. It's a York P30 which was £17.95, free postage, from ebay. Today I only burnt 270 calories. It's fluctuating between 260 and 300 calories burnt for the workout. If you notice, it isn't actually 20 minutes. It's 27 minutes. I play the DVD on my laptop so I can see the minutes on the bottom of the screen if…

I got mine from ebay. It's a York P30. It was about £18 which is about $26.

It is a hothothot morning here in Birmingham, UK. I just sweated out 300 calories on Day 7. Shower time, methinks!

With pasta, I just chuck in any vegetables I know that taste good together. Things like aubergine (eggplant), onion, courgette, tomatoes, mushroom... Sometimes when I can't be bothered to cook something slightly more complicated, I just cook the pasta, drain it, put it back in the pan with some chopped tomatoes from a tin…
