  • As said, I'm in, too! I'm starting at 14st 13.4lbs (209.4lbs). 10lbs loss would be absolutely great. This is the push I need!
  • Oh my lord, yes. I had a dream about her last night. Yum.
  • Bret McKenzie of Flight of the Conchords fame, anyone? James MacAvoy? He's as nerdy as they come! Daniel Radcliffe, of course. Josh Groban's a lovely little nerd. I'm sure I'll think of more.
  • It's perfectly natural for your weight to fluctuate around that time. I still log it because it helps me understand what my weight is doing and the patterns that emerge. I wouldn't ignore a week just because you know it's cause.
  • I'd be careful about that wish! She's severely underweight. Definitely beautiful, though.
  • Scarlett Johansson or Katy Perry. Katy is my height (5ft 7) and body shape (hour glass/slight pear) so I'm hoping that if I ever get down to 124lbs (which is what she is rumoured to be), I'll be similar. It's a healthy BMI (19.42) so definitely something that is possible. Just will take some work! Her measurements,…
  • It's supposed to be one of the best. And if you use it in a stir fry, it turns your vegetables a LOVELY colour! So gutted that I've run out.
  • I think it's a good tool to train yourself to recognise when you're full or satisfied. You should eat until you've satisfied your hunger, not necessarily until you're full to the point of not being able to eat another bite (unless that's a one off, i've been known to do that in restaurants and at christmas). Definitely…
  • Yay! I've also signed up for a half marathon :) Good luck with it and congrats on all that you've achieved so far :)
  • I've done it! Started in January this year and finished in March. I keep up running and have signed up for a 5k in September as well as a half marathon (eek!) in March next year and will be doing another half marathon in October this year... as well as hopefully the London Marathon next April. So, yeah, it gets you into…
  • Wow, we're all perves. 189 views and counting! If you change things up a bit in terms of exercise and possibly eating, I'm sure you'll get there (if not, close). It's easier for guys to lose weight (grr biology!) so if you just make a few small changes or up the exercise, your losses will get a nudge.
  • Oooh a few neglected tracks there, I'll dig them out :) Thanks! I've noticed that any track that includes the word 'can't' in a negative way, I either start feeling tired or want to walk. Michael Jackson makes me extremely energetic. Love love love his tracks!
  • I know you can get them already ground but that defeats the object of having them fresh and is more expensive... so that doesn't make sense at all. I'll stick with my pestle and mortar for now and think about buying a grinder in the future. I know the cheapest on Amazon is only £10 but that's a tenner I could spend on…
  • I've done it twice through now (and tried a third but hit a busy time so quit half way through). I never lost a massive amount of weight with it but I did notice I was fitter for it and had a little more muscle definition. My arm muscles definitely appeared - I remember nearly managing to open an IMPOSSIBLE bottle of wine…
  • I use a pair of Adidas Response 19s. I tried a couple of pairs on when I was deciding and those were the most cushioning (which is what I needed for my foot arch) and they happened to be the cheapest - lucky! They're beautiful, too, and I've just bought the capris and tshirts to match so I'm kitted out for the warmer…
  • For anyone who is deprived of Potter books or the films, a Boggart, in the context of this article, is a transforming creature first mentioned in the Prisoner of Azkaban. It transforms into whatever you fear the most. Ron's was a spider, Lupin's was the moon (because he was a werewolf), Harry's was fear itself. You see…
  • I started finding difficulty around then, too. My average speed (I run outside) is 5mph. I try and keep it at that. I did notice that one time I sped up without thinking about it to a 5.3mph average and ended up SO tired and I had to stop. Perhaps slow down by a couple of tenths mph to 5.3 or something. It might make a lot…
  • Oooh yay! I started C25K after New Year and finished it at the beginning of March (right on schedule!). I wasn't a runner at ALL at the start. I went out for a test of day 1 before I started but that was mainly because I was so excited about my new running shoes. Advice: -Make sure you have the right running shoes! The…
  • That's awesome, well done! I completed C25K a week ago and have kept up the running, trying to actually get to 5k (I was going with time, not distance, and always fell short of a full 5k run). I finally got my 5k run in (with two short recovery walks due to harsh hills) and I feel great. Can't WAIT to get to your stage…
  • Ok, first of all: chillax! Secondly... since when? How often do you weigh yourself? Do you exercise?
  • Giving up swearing (cussing) is an awesome thing to commit to! I love that
  • The act of giving something up for a certain period of time is not assigned to a religious denomination, however. Perhaps made popular by certain faiths as a tradition but when I give up something during Lent it will not be because I follow a certain faith, it will be because it provides an official date structure for me,…
  • Wow... narrow minded. Lent doesn't have to just be food or drink related. It can be that you take something up, too. One good deed a day, for example. I'm not necessarily religious so this isn't a religious thing for me but I think people should still respect it regardless of it being connected to a certain strand of…
  • Welcome to MFP! :D I'm glad it's useful for you. I've been using it for about a year so it's definitely a good tool. I go to Uni of Birmingham, so I live in Birmingham during term time and a lot of non-term time.
  • You got the html right, not the BBcode ;)
  • Well, judging by your own loss so far, it is not realistic. It wouldn't affect your figure all that much, which, I assume, is what you really mean. To fit into an outfit you need to lose fat, not just water, that requires gaining muscle to burn off that fat quicker. Try some weight training mixed in with cardio.
  • If you email them to me to upload them onto photobucket and send me each individual link, I'd be happy to put them side by side for you in Photoshop. It'd take me literally 30 seconds so it's not a problem :) Send me a message if you like and I'll send you my email address.
  • Yeah I've tried them. I wouldn't suggest just sticking to them (and if you did, that would really be a waste of gym membership / entry fee) because obviously a varied workout is better. They're good for toning, I reckon. When I used them, it was for 10 minutes at a time but I was also walking most days. I wasn't checking…
  • No no. Jelly. Not jam/jell-o. You know, the wobbley stuff.
