Calling All Runners!!!

So I have been running now for 3 1/2 months. I started out with Reebok Runtones and seem to do okay with muscle fatigue. I have worn those slap out and bought a new pair today - I purchased Adidas Microbounce. So my question for all you runners is....What type of running shoes do you wear and which do you suggest?
So far, just ran 4 miles and the Adidas seem to work great. No muscle fatigue, no blisters, no cramps.
What are your faves???

I suggest nothing that has the purpose of toning - because they tone by keeping your balance off.
I was running in Sauconys until recently... I have recently switched to Brooks Adrenaline and I love them!0 -
I have a pair of Fila light weight mesh top sneakers and these are the only ones that don't give me blisters or problems so far0

I've run over 16,000 miles in the last 8.5 years, exclusively in Brooks Adrenalines GTS (models 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 & 10). I can only get about 400 miles out of each pair (I track the miles).
That said, the best thing to do is go to a running store and let them help you decide what shoes are best for you.

Well I know everyone is completely different. I have went from.. Saucony to Adidas to Nike. I never was a fan of the New Balance(only for my foot they don't work) but thus far I am running in the Nike Lunar Eclipse. Amazingly light, pertty(Still campaigning for BLACK RUNNERS for WOMEN. Seriously, who wants Orange, Purple, Green Yellow with White/Light mesh? IM SORRY BUT BLACKS JUST AWESOME)
Anyway rant over..

I haven't worn Asics but I hear that they are great for running! I was going to get a pair yesterday but instead I got Nike Dual fusion. I just wore them today and I really like them!0

I use a pair of Adidas Response 19s. I tried a couple of pairs on when I was deciding and those were the most cushioning (which is what I needed for my foot arch) and they happened to be the cheapest - lucky! They're beautiful, too, and I've just bought the capris and tshirts to match so I'm kitted out for the warmer months.0

I know it's different for each person, but was just curious what the majority was wearing....
I've been told Asics but when I tried them on they just didn't seem to have enough cushioning.

You really ought to go to a specialty running store and get properly fitted for your feet, your running style, your running surfaces and your frame.
I happen to run in Asics GT-2160s, but almost every other shoe in the Asics line would be absolutely wrong for me. You really need to know what type of shoe you need before you start trying them on or buying them.
If you keep wearing the wrong shoes, sooner or later you're going to have an injury that the shoes could have prevented.0 -
Definitely Asics have been the best for me personally but it depends on your gait and running style - better to get yourself to a specialist running shoe store who have the latest gizmos to see what you need. happy running!0

I second this. I have the Lunars and I love them. Super light and work with my gait.0 -
I swear by adidas, that's all i have worn for the last 15 years
after seeing all the hype about Asics for running i invested in a pair, only to not be able to wear them, within 5 min of running my foot gets tingly and couldn't feel it0 -
I have to reiterate going to a good athletic shoe store and have them check your pronation (how the body distributes weight as it cycles through the gait) Your pronation will determine the best shoe for you. I've been wearing Nike Equalon 3 shoes for the past year and they work well for me. I should get about 500 miles out of them, but unlike a previous poster - I haven't logged my miles. ) I've trained for and run three half marathons in them.
As for blisters, I got rid of my 100% cotton socks and haven't gotten any blisters since except around a toenails that are too long.0 -
I run outside in neutral/minimal shoes, but not barefoot b/c there is glass in the park!!
Nike Lunaracer when the weather was warm.
New Balance WT100 ('minimal' trail shoes) during the winter - better traction.
Can't wait to try out my Brooks Green Silence (later version: black and light blue ones, NOT the Ronald Mc Donald ones!!) :noway:0
