It's great that you are active but please just eat more to fuel your lifestyle. You're an athlete and you must treat your body well. Look at Michael Phelps for instance. He had to eat 10,000 calories a day while he was training. I'm guessing you need at least 2,500 calories, but probably more.

You're not eating enough and your body is in starvation mode. If your estimation is correct and you are indeed burning 1000 calories you are putting out way more than you're putting in. You get a certain amount of calories/energy just for breathing, sweating, using the bathroom, etc. and minus any exercise. So basically…

Thanks for posting this Bethvandenberg! I just had a conversation with my friend about this earlier. A couple of weeks ago I weighed in at 148. Today I'm 149. I workout 3-4 times a week and I stick to the calorie limit. I often eat under my limit. I was trying to figure out how I gained a pound if I'm eating at my calorie…

Dara you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work!!! It's times like this we realize just how small our support system can really be. Keep pushing on and please don't let anyone throw a monkey wrench in your program.

From what I've read in the past if we don't consume enough calories whatever we do eat out body will hold on to it. Basically the body goes into starvation mode. So even though you're not working out much, you may have to up your calorie intake a little. Something strange happened to me a few times in the past. I called…

I use Raw Protein Powder. It's a little pricey, but has all natural ingredients. Also has only 80 calories per serving.

First off, kudos to you and your boyfriend for a job well done. Keep up the good work. I can totally relate to what you're going through. I've had people make sarcastic comments when I say I don't eat something or I'm not drinking (alcohol). I've heard "you can have it, just eat it in moderation", or " you can't have that…

Ok I'm a little slow. Can someone please tell me what "bump" means?

Also, having protein is actually a good thing. I've heard it keeps you feeling satisfied longer. I have experienced that myself as I have protein shakes usually every morning and it keeps me satisfied for at least 3 hours. I also heard that protein is especially important to have when trying to loose weight. Having protein…

Barbietrv thanks for sharing your food diary. I see quite a bit of processed foods in your diary. It might be helpful to eat more lean meats (chicken, fish), vegetables, whole wheat grains, fruit, and nuts. Although you are eating below your calorie limit, the types of food you eat may be preventing weight loss. Hope that…

Can you say more about your diet and exercise routine?

Wow I'm really surprised by all the negativity. We are all here sharing common goals and up until this post I saw posts and responses that were very supportive. This post just took on a life of it's own. It's ok to disagree, but the negativity is so uncalled for. We are all here to support each other not tear each other…

I totally agree with Carolyn's post. We are a society of fast and processed foods. And we're a society with high rates of high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, heart conditions, etc. I get that people have families, long work hours, other obligations, and may not me able to afford to eat natural foods. However I think we…
