  • *waves hello* Think I explained on another thread that my username should really be Light Switch as I've been on and off here for over ten years, more off than on! So I'm now at the heaviest I've ever been and really need to do something about it. SW 226lbs CW 226 lbs I joined a gym/pool on Friday, have been swimming and…
  • Walking my dogs or doing flyball with them, not that we've done a lot of that over the last 18 months but looking forward to competing again :)
  • Hi All, I feel I should change my username to yoyo or perhaps light switch - been a member on/off/on/off for the better part of a decade, more off than on! I need to shift some timber and sort myself out fitness wise for so many reasons. I've got 50lbs to lose to get into the "suggested weight for height" bracket or…
  • I love German Shepherds! <3 This is my boy Olli, he's 4 years old. The rosette is for his team getting a 1st place in the Multibreed Flyball Competition they entered over the Easter weekend.
  • I'm in Stockton on Tees, always happy to add people from the UK :-)
  • I'm looking to lose around about 60lbs (just over 4 stone) maybe more depending on how comfortable I feel in my skin. I've got a fitbit flex which is a great motivator when i put it on/remember to charge it! Feel free to add me as a friend :-)
  • Hi, I'm in Teesside and as well as starting the 5:2 diet this week, I'm also starting pilates and couch to 5km too! I've done all in the past to good effect but slacked off and now i have 60lbs to lose. Quite happy to have people add me too :-) Onwards and downwards! Debbie x
  • I pack myself an 'emergency kit' for the days when I'm on duty and likely to have to work late - i've been known to go through the drive thru and ask for a cup of hot water and a fruit bag (just so they'll give me the hot water!) - hot water so i can make myself a cup soup. Not sure you get them over there, but stock cube…
  • Pleased you had a good day :-) I know what you mean about brain fog, I had to trial a fair few pain killers before finding the right ones for me - they make such a massive difference to my quality of life and my ability to manage my pain.

  • Sorry to hear you hurt::-( Hopefully when you get out with your friend you'll have some distraction from the pain. I have a medication regime that helps me to some extent - have you spoken to your doctor about possibly trying some medication to help with pain management?

  • :waves hello: Yep I'm another one with EDSIII and have just had to really have a stern talking to myself as I've let my way of life slip and consequently feel crap for it. So day one of a brand new start :-) I've found that by keeping up my medication regime and subscribing to the 5:2 way of life actually really suits me…
  • I'm 35 and have Ehlers-Danlos III (Hypermobility Syndrome) which is a genetic condition causing all of my connective tissues to be too stretchy which means lots of pain, subluxations and dislocations on a daily basis. I agree with the others who've said that you should try not to get into the 'woe is me' way of thinking…
  • Why not tackle it from another perspective? Encourage them to exercise instead! Every little bit helps. I bought myself a fitbit and was quite surprised at the motivation that arrived in the post with it!
  • *Waves hello* I'm a Smoggy but surely you can't hold that against me? Besides, there must be some form of medication for it these days?! Onwards and downwards!
  • Well done! What a transformation!
  • My cousin has just had this tattoo done with the meaning of 'free spirit' and 'there but for the grace of God go I' http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4mhg0foM31r9i5sv.jpg
  • I also have cream crackered knees so well versed in physioterrorism for them! I second the thought of properly fitting trainers, as well as doing work to strengthen your inner quads (as these are probably the reason your patellae maltrack). Taking advice from a physio is the way to go long term though - be assessed…

  • I must be mad but count me in!
  • Mussels in garlic butter sauce with a white baguette for dipping - all well within cals for the day - YUM!
  • Can't wear stillettos or anything with a fine point heel, but can wear wedges or a block heel for a short period - the joys of having hypermobility syndrome!
  • *Waves Hello* from Teesside :-)
