  • Steer clear of the weight watchers stuff. In order for it to be low calorie they put artificial stuff in it, that would help up your calories. How about banana on granary toast for breakfast, even a Heinz soup for lunch (homemade would be ideal), then chicken or fish with sweet potato and veggies for dinner? I have a…
  • They're on YouTube. Worth a watch!
  • I have only just recently dug out my slow cooker and I LOVE it!! My husband uses it for everything: soups, spaghetti bolognese, chilli, stew, cottage pie. You name it, it gets put in there. It all comes out so much tastier too. Good Food have one of those little cook books called 'Slow Cooker Recipes', I've got that and it…
  • My favourite is the Cajun Chicken and potato wedges. We used sweet potato instead and they came out lovely. I made the stew in a slow cooker and that was great. Not so keen on the meatball one... My friend made the risotto for me and that was delicious! My favourite cook book at the minute.
  • More geared towards UK people. Two well know tv chefs who lost a lot of weight through modifying recipes to make lower cal options. The men are known as the Hairy Bikers as that is exactly what they look like!
  • Unfortunately, stretch marks are permanent. There is no way to completely get rid of them. However, over time they will fade to a light silvery colour. Keeping your skin moisturised with any moisturiser will help, yes you can buy bio oil etc etc but I hate the feeling of oil on my skin so opt for a stretch mark cream just…
  • Never thought of this! Thanks for the tip! Will try this today.
  • I hate all the planks! I do the first two sets and then for the 3rd lot in the cardio I do jumping jacks and then the final abs set I sit on my mat, knees bent and lean back then turn side to wide with my weight (crap at explaining this!) And that works my abs just as well. Or just put in some level 1 moves. Last day of…
  • My face burns so badly when I sweat. I get it the worst around my nose for some weird reason. As soon as I finish my workout I go straight to the bathroom and run a face cloth under cold water and then put it over my face. Really really helps take the burning away. Or you could put a wet cloth in the fridge and it'll be…
  • Fantastic! Big difference! I am also doing the shred. On Day 19 now and I am loving the results too :)
  • 8 (Pic on the right was me yesterday)
  • Hello! I'm Claire from just outside Edinburgh. Feel free to add me :) Really loving the MFP community, managed to lose the weight gained during my pregnancy and now I'm chipping away in to the last stone.
  • I see everything different now. Having my son has motivated me in a way I never thought possible. I grew up with a Mum who was constantly on a diet and complaining about her image, I don't want to do the same with my child. I was a takeaway junkie, at least once a week I was ordering something. I never do that now. It's…
  • I agree. I took 2 days off after day 1 of level 2 and just jumped right back in. I find with 30DS there is no set way of doing it. Rest days are important too.
  • I did 10 days of level 1 then took 2 days off. Now on level 2 (which I fear may kill me) and hoping to do 10 days of this then take a rest day and finally onto level 3. I've seen someone do 30 days of level 1, 30 of level 2 etc. I would be so bored if I did that.
  • Don't be so hard on yourself, first of all! Your baby is still very small and it is early days. In have a 5 1/2 month old and I have only just started doing daily exercise (house never gets tidied now though!) My tips would be, keep it simple. I exercise when my son takes his morning nap and I do Jillian Michaels 30 Day…
  • Great idea! Keeps everyone motivated too. I think I'll probably eat far better now I know I have you lot snooping on my food diaries :)
  • Circuit training here too.
  • How have you found Insanity? I would really like to progress to this after 30DS.
  • Hello! Yes I'm seeing results with 30DS, not so much in terms of weight loss but I have dropped 1.5inches under my bust and 2 inches from my waist in the first 7 days. I measure and weigh myself on a Monday. It is a great workout as it is only 20 minutes and I can work this around when my baby is asleep. Sorry to hear…

It seems daunting, I had 50lbs to lose but I am now 36lb down. I set myself mini goals and that kept me motivated. Good luck! Kathneal, hello in NZ. All are welcome!

  • I bought mine from ASDA for £10 and they are Salter scales, not sure of the exact model but they are glass scales. They do weight in kg, lbs or stones and lbs, body fat % and bmi. Love them!
