  • I'm really surprised I haven't seen this answer yet with all the responses... Lean Turkey (slices, breast, whatever) it's pretty low fat and high in protein. I also love turkey pepperoni. The stuff I buy (Hormel) is about 70 calories for 17 pieces and is 9 g I think. With a light cheese stick, this makes a pretty…
  • I think I've seen that at Costco. I was curious, but didn't want to spend quite that much ($299 when I looked).
  • I've used a Mio watch that you have to press two buttons and take your heart rate every couple of minutes. After about a year, only one button would go down and I could not get a reading while moving. Sometimes it was two minutes before I could get a reading and my heart rate would be lower by then. I now have a Polar FT7…
  • Please don't apologize for venting, that's what these forums are for... A Support System (which a good one will listen and then give constructive advice). I empathize with you, I've been dealing with a foot injury for 3 weeks now and most impact sports hurt (I cannot walk without special shoes on right now). I can't swim…
  • andrejjorje, I've seen you post Ney-Saying responses to a few posts. I'm not judging, but just asking, what are your opinions based on? Are you a medical professional? To the original poster: Very in your face without being hurtful! I loved it, it was a wake up call for me in many ways. Thank you for sharing. Love the…
  • OMG, I actually had an anxiety attack when my counselor recommended I try that as well as the exercises she was teaching me. Well, I flat out REFUSED to give up my caffeine completely (I am a self-made barista who loves her mochas), but I cut back from multiple quad mocha's a day to one (maybe two) doubles a day. I also…
  • I completely agree!!! I've been battling this cycle for decades. I typically do well for 4-7 days then I blow it and feel so bad about it I give myself permission to start again on the ever famous "Monday." I'm beginning to break that cycle, but it is very very hard. Your post was a subtle reminder that it can be done!…
  • Looks like the New Balance N4 got pretty good reviews on Amazon, but it looks like a hard plasticy chest strap. The one on the Polar FT4 is solid cloth which is very comfortable (much more than I expected). It also says the strap is not water proof, the one on the FT4 is... Even machine washable (after you remove the…
  • By all means, I'm no expert. I just bought a Polar FT4 last week after quite a bit of research. I found it does a little more than I actually need it to and was a little bummed I can't download my stats to the 'puter without another accessory that costs almost as much as the HRM. However, I am still in love with it and…
  • Yeah Haw! Those are great ones! Thanks for sharing!
  • Hi Rachel, I'm Raychel. I don't know that I ever knew that it meant "Lamb or Ewe" so thanks! I got the "y" because I'm named after my Grandmother who passed just before I was born. She was originally a "Rachel" but decided she wanted to be different and added the "Y."
  • Very impressive! Thanks for sharing!
  • You just made my day!! I am fat, but if I'd had tools like this when I was a younger 103 lb hotty, maybe I wouldn't have gotten to this point. Making sure you eat healthy, no matter what your size is very important! I don't think I'll ever get to a point I don't have to watch, because once I do, I start giving in to…

  • Non Scale Victory (I only learned this a short while ago myself... I've been wondering for 6 months). Love the compliment, it's acknowledgment with just a teensy bit of envy (hence the too fast part)!
  • You are the Goddess of the day (at least)! My suggestion: scrambled egg whites (1/2 cup = 60 calories & 12 protein) and a piece of whole wheat 50 cal (or so) toast.

  • I like 'em too, but I prefer the honey kind. I usually have 2 with a 1/2 skim milk, works out to be about 170 calories, so whether it's good for you or not is relative. Depends if you have the calories available.
  • I don't think it's weird at all. I was raised very strictly christian. My mom still is, but i believe in more. Because of my upbringing, any religious acts always have an element of Christianity in them. I often "pray" but am actually meditating and maybe reciting a self-written spell. I sing christian christmas carols and…
  • I couldn't have said it better! You inspire me :-D
  • I would love to get to a point where I can do that. I only got myself to stick to once a day in the last few months. Its a sick obsession that really makes me spiral because the numbers fluctuate too much during the day. I have a friend who doesn't have a scale at home at all, she only weighs in once a week at the weight…
  • Thanks for the suggestions! Clothes are a big motivator, I have drawers full from when I first started losing weight about 2 years ago. Then I fell off the wagon and gained about half back and I really don't want to buy a bigger size. I've bought a few things second hand, but I've stuck pretty hard to not buying any new…
  • onions pickles tomatoes spam beets Well my list can get pretty long, which is part of my weight problem ;-( I am working on that though, I've gotten to where I can tolerate and even enjoy mushrooms sometimes and it used to be #2 on that list.
  • Whoo Hooo! Oregonians are the BESTEST EVER! And no, I'm not a duck fan LOL! Welcome Jez! Hope ya like it here. I've been back and forth for a bit since July, some days are just harder than others. It's a great site for calorie/exercise counting and for general support. I love the phone app!
  • This totally sounds like my house!
  • I also am addicted to them. I usually just have a couple with a small glass of skim milk. The other night I had extra calories to spare (I know right LOL) so I had two graham crackers with 1/2 Tb (each) peanut butter on it and 1/2 a banana sliced up and put on top. It was awesome... Except it really needed milk!
  • Wow! That was a stunning post, I don't think it could have been said better.
  • You are so added to my friends! Game on :-P LOL! I'm "Jr Babycakes"
  • Whoo Hoo! I love my Xbox Kinect!!! I love the dance games (I have Dance Central 1 & 2) and the Your Shape games (have both -- but recommend the 2012 version). Yesterday I burned 475 calories playing Your Shape for 45 minutes (this is the calorie burn I get from my heart rate monitor, not from the game). Enjoy!!! If you…
