i eat bread all the time sometimes almost every meal there is some sort of bread or pita. ive lost 55lbs without any issues.

ignore/delete the email without a response and move on with my life. you've lived without them for 10 years why bother they don't sound like they valued you.

i don't see food as good or bad. its up to you. ice cream is there to serve your satisfaction, a treat if you will. not a nutritional purpose. if you enjoy it have at it!

i think you'd be surprised as @r5d5 pointed out just ALLOWING yourself to have a portion of whatever is there might be enough problem is you've probably never done that. its a self fulfilling prophesy. you believe you can't control yourself so you don't and dive head first into a chocolate cake and then feel bad about it.…

yes this will solve all your problems. eat veggies instead of cake! duh!

stop weighing yourself at oddball days if you don't understand how you body works with losing weight and water and food. stick to once a week same time until you understand. it will save you a lot of heartache

i lost 30 pounds in 4 months but i was also 255 pounds. I don't think its realistic at 158 pounds. I'm sorry.
-
that should be fine.

are you abel to avoid the tea room until you can be stronger around sweets. can you bring your own low calorie portion control sweet to work so you are not depriving yourself but eating it in a controlled manner when you want something sweet? the stuff that gets dropped at the nurses station can you move it to the tea room?

read breaking free from emotional/compulsive eating by geneen roth. its a short read and it is fantastic. don't let the title scare you away. the earlier you learn why you do the things you do the less long term struggle you will have with food.
-
i can't be around that stuff either most of the time. where do you work that its always around maybe we can try and figure a creative solution. is it literally a bakery? or are we just talking a work break room? is it a vending machine or free food that people just bring in for everyone

i need variety too, i have no "Staples" in my house every week my grocery list looks different. i use websites like skinny taste and cooking light to get inspiration.

ditto the broccoli slaw. its the sliced up raw veggies with no dressing. a secret weapon for me and adds the perfect crunch to a regular salad and sandwich. i find eggs filling i eat them every morning and they are inexpensive i think. i mean the more veggies you can build into your meal its a simple way to get nutrients…

love this great point!

I'm sorry. i fortunately hadn't had too many incidents of people being rude or remarks regarding my weight. however there was this one time i will never forget. it was about 1.5 years ago at 255 pounds. i went with old college friends to visit our college. we went out to the college bars and of course ended up at the local…

good luck! I've lost 55 of my 100 you can do this!
-
i eat english muffin, turkey sausage, egg and 80 cal worth of cheese everyday. about 300 calorie sandwich. satisfying and lasts me until lunch.

@richbrenton when i find myself reaching for something that isn't healthy that i just have.to.have. or I'm fighting with myself constantly in my head to choose the healthier option to eat. that for me is a red flag to ask "what is going on" emotionally. start there. awareness is step one. and the more you become aware of…

do you mean changes in appearance I'm assuming? it depends on how much you have to lose and where you lose your weight. "people" noticed my weightloss right around 20lbs loss, I had 100 to lose.

the best meal plan is the one you enjoy and can do for life. i don't see how any of those systems can really be sustainable or how "Transitioning" to real food can really work. start figuring out how to put together meals for yourself at home. there are tons of shortcuts and things you can do like make freezer meals and…

100 to lose. I'm down 55 pounds. I've been maintaining that loss since the winter. time to get back in weightloss mode! glad your approach has shifted so you can lose the weight for good. the most weight i ever lost was 25lbs one time for like 5 minutes. lol this time around my approach is much more realistic, long term…

pack a mini cooler. plan your meals don't mindless eat. i feel like when I'm snacking i eat more rather than a planned mealtime with a sandwich lets say and fruit. i would do that. pack a yogurt and granola for breakfast maybe a hard boiled egg. sandwich and fruit for lunch maybe some pretzels. you can eat all those in the…

I'm sorry! i get migraines and take Maxalt as needed. BC triggered them now that I'm not on BC i get a migraine about 3-4 times a year and they last 3 full days. Maxalt at least helps me function. i dont stress too much about my eating during that time or when I'm sick otherwise. i still track but i loosen the reigns a bit…

55 pounds. that took me about 8 months. thats a balanced healthy no crash dieting way. and it wasn't linear. i lost 35 in about 4 months, became complacent, maintained a month. then lost another 20, 2 months later. I've just been maintaining my loss since the winter but i have another 50lbs to lose.
-
once a week, same day/time every week. imo everything in between is false advertisement =) and can just mess with your emotions. some people like to track daily to see their fluctuations throughout the month, but imo a very limited group of people can really handle that emotionally and put the scale in perspective in…

@Tanira17 yes but some don't. see what works for you. i don't eat back my burned calories unless i really need to or saving for a special occasion. but if you are eating super low like 1200 you should probably eat back your calories
-
i think stressing about the weightloss is what helps to contribute not losing the weight in the first place. so don't overcomplicate it. eat at a calorie deficit move more when you can, however you can, when you want. done. good luck!
-
well how has the scale been going based on what you are doing already? that is a clue into how you eating plan is working or not working
-
@joannejmo you will not stick with it if you are feeling deprived and hungry. you should look closer at what you are eating and how you are spending your calories. maybe its just too little for you. sticking to low cal and be miserable will only lead you to not sticking with it long term . maybe even just adding an extra…

forget motivation don't depend on it. i treat it like a bonus. if it comes great but i don't count on it. in my opinion digging deep and understanding why you don't want to take care of yourself is the real work. not the food plan or exercise plan. those will be by-products when you figure out the why in the first place. i…
