  • Medifast is the worst thing I did for my body. The result was fast weightloss but the cost was no strength and muscle tone. I was at my lowest weight when I ruptured my acl playing a pick up game of volleyball. I know that I could have tore it even if not on medifast but it certainly didn't help. It is important to…
  • I am sure glad I have confidence that I will make my goal of becoming healthy and fit rather than become demoralized that you decided to point out that I was actually a failure {in your opinion}. Really? I guess you feel great about putting people down. You don't know what I have gone through to get to this point and I…
  • Thank you for this thread. I really needed it. I have been busting my butt and felt like I was failing because I have only lost around 15 lbs since January. Now I see that many of you are loosing at the same rate. I swore I would loose weight the healthy way and not get so hung up on the scale this time but gosh is it hard…
  • congratulations! Can't wait till I get to normal.
  • Take a walk at lunch (if you can) to clear your head or to reflect on how good you will feel to not give in to the comfort foods. Think about how proud you will be if you don't give in. And, because you added a little activity to your day that you were not anticipating, you can have a little treat or bite of whatever it is…
  • I am up at 5am every week day. It was hard at first but you can do it. Now I don't even attempt to hit the snooze. Now I am in the habit of making sure that my workout clothes are picked out the night before so that I don't wake my husband up. I also pack my lunch and my gym bag every night before I go to bed so there was…
  • not sure if you have anyone you are cooking for but our family loves pork tenderloin. If you can grill it even better and it takes no time at all to cook (on grill). I serve it with rice and a side salad to the family and I sub out the rice for some mixed veggies (birds eye or similar). Super healthy and easy. Another…
  • It no doubt works for some. It was designed by doctors to help those who were extremely overweight. It also requires a lot of discipline when reintroducing real food in the maintanence phase. However, it will wreck your metabolism. The average day on the diet for me = 700 -800 cals. Yes I was hungry at first. Yes I drank a…
  • Some folks on this post have found that it doesn't matter but for me it did. I love bread, rice and pasta. As soon as I dropped these from my diet and added veggies I saw results. I am sure some of it had to have been the added defict that these caused in my diet but even while keeping within my calorie limits the scale…
  • Are you eating instant or the quick oats/ or steel cut? I found that instant just doesnt work for me. I take the time to cook the Quaker 1 min version and through in some fruit, almonds or pecans and a packet of truvia. It is so filling and satisfying and still comes in around 200 cal.
  • You look great! I have a similar relationship with my scale and lifting has been the difference for me as well. Good luck and keep up the great work!
