  • I met with a trainer at the gym last fall. He asked my about my diet. I told him that I had an egg white omelet with spinach or tomato every morning. He said it sounded great but questioned why I didn't eat the egg yolks. I thought I shouldn't because of cholesterol and fat. Turns out it's good to eat the yolks. I agree…
  • Fun!! I'm buying Organic Omega 3 Eggs, blueberries and Ezekial Sprouted Grain Bread ~ staples in my house
  • I count any water type beverage. I also did Weight Watchers and they always said it was ok to have Crystal Light or sparkling water and count it. Although I'd shy away from counting diet sodas. Good luck!
  • kcdrake ~ What kind of surgery did you have? Full replacement? I had my MPFL replaced as well as a scope for fissures. I start PT on Tuesday so I'm hoping they'll give me some good exercises that might get my heart rate up a bit. My quad has no muscle left. It's awful right now. How long ago did you have surgery?…
  • Hi there. I'll hit one week on Tuesday. Good luck to you!!
  • I found an article that talks about dieting myths. Negative calorie foods are a myth. Check out the article found in Time magazine: http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1896439_1896359_1896346,00.html
  • My 5 weeks posting keeps saying I'm only going to lose like 3 pounds by then. Seriously??!?! What's the point?
  • Thanks everyone for your input. I never thought counting calories could be so confusing. I wish it would come off really fast but I know that I won't be able to maintain if it does. Guess it's time to stop always looking for the quick fix.
  • Be a kick butt Zumba instructor, walk down the beach in a bathing suit without putting on my shorts or a skirt before I stand up, say OUT LOUD, "I love my body and all of my toned and trim curves" and believe it.
  • That helps  OK so the BMR tool says I need 1,312 per day. So I should up from 1,200 to that amount?
  • Wait three days and try again. It's absolutely attributed to bloat and water weight gain. Don't panic!!

  • Hi Cassie. I'm new here as well and definitely use the help with accountability. It sounds like you have been through so much. I admire your courage. I'm a 36 year old mom to one boy (5) and looking to lose about 20 pounds. My highest weight was about 50 pounds ago. Feel free to add me as a friend for encouragement.
  • Makes sense. The cereal is now yesterday's news. Thanks all!
  • You made me smile, What an inspiration you are! Love the skirt too.
  • I can't tell you the number of times I label myself with negative words. I like the idea of redefining. It's almost like you can pretend to be whatever you want to be. Imagine it until it becomes tangible. Thank you for this motivator.
  • If you've got an iPhone or iTouch there is an app called "Cupcakes!". You get to go through the whole process of choosing your batter, baking, frosting and topping ech one and then get to "eat" them. Ok, ok....so I know it's not the real thing but I've actually used it and pretended I could taste the cupcake with each…
  • Thanks all for the good ideas. I hadn't even thought about cottage cheese, which I actually like but always considered it to be a lunchtime food. I like the popcorn idea too with the portion controlled bags. Kevin, love the idea of smiling at the hunger and choosing another path. I'm always up for a challenge so I guess…
  • About ten years ago I lost just over 50 pounds. I went from 186- 135. I did not have much of an issue with loose skin at all. I was also doing some light weight lifting and cardio during the period of time that I was losing the weight. My major problem was, and still is, my arms. I was told that doing tricep dips and push…
  • wintergirl99: I'm starting today at 144 and my goal is 125. How long did it take you to get from 142 to 125. Any tips you can share?

  • Hi. I feel your pain. I injured by knee on February 3rd and have been on crutches since then. I had reconstructive surgery on my knee last Monday but it's going to be a long road to recovery. I've been told at least 5 months until full aerobic activity. Like you, I'm concerned about gaining wieght and losing muscle. I've…
