No haggis, tripe, head cheese or legumes. Other than that, whatever you want.

The park I run in has a similar hill (Ft. Benjamin Harrison.) I would be very careful with any hill training at this point. Maybe some very slight grades on the treadmill but I would not go for very long. I tried this very thing last week and wound up with a very sore Achilles on my left leg. Then, my right ankle started…

I smoked form the age of 13 until I was 30. I had to minimize my exposure to my tiggers which were fatty foods, carbs, other smokers, alcohol and driving for a solid year. The cravings will diminish but I'm not sure they ever go away. I still get the occasional adrenalin jolt when I pass other smokers or see it on tv but…

Not sure why, but this makes me want to give you a hug and invite you over to watch The Notebook.

I'm just trying to be honest. I wouldn't expect any woman to get too excited about my 30%. I hate it myself.

I'll be honest and take the beating. Around 15-25% body fat regardless of pear, hourglass, triangle, etc shape. I'm closer to the 30% guy. :( Edit for honesty.

You're all a bunch of loosers. :D

One should NEVER ever, ever, ever, ever have to "break-in" running shoes. If the salesman says you do, go elsewhere. I'm no expert but I have a few marathon's under my belt and I have high arches. Brooks Glycerin's worked great for my neutral gait but required a high arch insole (Lynco L400). See if this offers any…

I wrote down all the foods I went to when I was stressed, depressed, hurt, etc. Inevitably, they were all linked to some of the few happy memories I had as a kid. I forget the psychological term but its classic behavior. This will sound super flaky coming from a layperson, but the general concept is that when under…

I wish that were true at my house. But I know myself and the temptation would be too great. I practice my self discipline at the grocery store by not buying certain foods that I know I am currently unable to resist. I can hear the alpha's now pointing and saying "Nuh-uh, your problem is that you are a spineless weakling…

Good luck, OP, filtering though all of this.

1. Understanding that indulging in foods to soothe negative feelings is counterproductive. 2. Understanding that food should be viewed more as fuel than a source of pleasure. 3. Exercising privately where I am free to pant, sweat, gasp, swear and shake my hamfists in blind rage. 4. Distancing myself from certain family and…

How did everyone do? I am very sad I missed it but I had other obligations. I was with you in spirit! :)

1. Loosing instead of losing. 2. The incessant calories in/calories out dispute. 3. Cardio versus lifting. 4. Muscle weighs more than fat argument. Answer: If the volume is the same, then go **** yourself. 5. Bar bands hammering the major chord when it CLEARLY is the relative minor. 6. Curvy. Chris Farley was not curvy. 7.…

I just turned 40. It's inspiring to see so many motivated (and attractive) 40 somethings in here. I see lots of my peers who simply have given up or simply don't care. The fact that this thread exists gives me hope. I have about 30 to 40 to lose (not loose).
