With fad diets like the atkins popping up all over the place, carbs are getting almost as bad of a rep as fats. You have to have carbs in your diet. They are absolutely necessary. Carbs does no necessarily mean things like bread or pasta. Those are composed of carbs but they are mainly grains. In terms of grains, keep it…

thank you for posting that. it was lovely

it will most likely have to be covered. is there anywhere else you can get it so that it's easier to cover up?

to make them slimmer, keep up a healthy diet with exercise and eventually the fat will come off. To tone them, work your biceps, triceps, your deltoids (shoulders), and pectorals. if you have access to a gym, then there should be weight equipment that specifies all of these area. if you are using free weights, prevention…

everything in moderation. my thing isn't so much the sugar as it is the carbonation. Anything carbonated is acidic, so your body is forced to neutralize this acidity. The way it does that is to leach alkaline substances from your bones. in short, carbonation is damaging to bones. but of course that's only if you have a lot…

i don't log anything that's not conscience exercise since i consider these to be part of my daily routine.

natural peanut butter on some toast cheese avacado

i've seen mixed responses on this my personal opinion is no, it doesn't count as water the only thing that should can't as water-intake is pure water. this is especially true for caffeinated drinks like green tea Caffein is an inhibitor of ADH, or anti-diuretic hormone. This is the hormone that regulates the amount of…

Here's an old post that should be of some help: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo

i would agree with mvl1014. try putting incorporating these calories throughout the day so you're not left with a big chunk in the end. Add cheese to your sandwich have a glass of milk to breakfast eat peanut butter eating all of those calories right before you go to bed probably isn't the best idea and depending on where…

sollygirl, if you don't mind me asking, what is your caloric intake for the day? your weight loss goals seem similar to mine and i've been struggling lately to try and find something that works. My current weight is at about 140 and i'd like to get down to just below 130ish if i can. Thanks!

20 and would love join! i'd like to lose about 10 pounds by july

i think because you have a special case, you should probably talk to a nutritionist or a doctor. i don't know how useful anything anyone here is going to say will be for you. all you're going to get is that's not healthy and you're too skinny anyway.

depends on your height, weight, age, gender, etc. a HRM is your best bet.

from what my neighbor made for us a few years ago, i would say roast beef, some type of potato side, and irish coffee haha i'm sorry for how completely useless that is happy st. patty's day non-the-less!:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

really, there's nothing you can do. there's no spot fat burning. you can only do what you've been doing (healthy diet and exercise) and hope that it comes off where you want it.

there is a fine line between boredom and hunger. you need to figure out which it is and deal accordingly. Drink a glass of water. are you still hungry. Go do something to keep you busy for half an hour. during that time, do you still feel pangs of hunger? if you are legitimately hungry, have a small snack. if not, and you…

haha loved it!

because you're just starting, its normal. its mostly water weight. enjoy the rapid loss while it lasts because as you body starts to adjust, it won't keep up at this rate. best of luck!

there are those that swear by the stuff and those that wouldn't touch it if their life depended on it. Personally, i go for moderation. try to limit the amount of artificial sweeteners. If it comes down to no sweets or artificial sweets, it won't kill you to treat yourself every now and again. :flowerforyou:

Banking calories doesn't work, unfortunately. Your body doesn't "think" you didn't use all of your calories monday so lets put some of those extra calories in for tonight. each day is a new day. what ever you don't eat one day doesn't roll over to the next. as long as you don't go crazy, there is nothing wrong with having…

the most accurate way to do so is by buying a heart rate monitor

it depends on where these sugars are coming from. sugar is a tricky thing to stay within the limits of because its in absolutely everything. just try to limit the amount of refined sugar in your diet (note i said limit, not cut out) if most of your sugar is coming from healthy sources such as fruits and milk, than you…
-
yep its got lots of protein, calcium, and healthy bacteria. if you're watching your sugar intake, be weary of the labels though. some of the flavored brands are high in the refined sugar.

weight is too easily affected for you to take too seriously. instead, measure yourself and judge your progress by how you feel. ps if you don't type in all caps, it makes things easier to read :)
-
if your body is craving something sweet, then leave 100 calories at the end of the day for something small like a piece of chocolate. if you keep pushing off cravings, then that could potentially lead to a binge.
-
if you have the calories left for it, there's no reason not to.
-
the machines don't have your heart rate, your height, or your gender, so they're rarely right. the best indication is a heart rate monitor. aside form that, when your entering your weight, always enter 10 pounds lighter than you actually are, and then subtract 20-25% of the calories from the final number,
-
if you are still hungry, then yes, you should be eating more. for one thing, it could be your body telling you that you are not getting enough food and that could put you in starvation mode. also, being perpetually hungry could lead to a binge. you should eat your bmr (there's a calculator for that under tools)

food scale is your best bet since its different for every food. i got mine for $5 at target
