I was right there with ya this morning, W5D3 for me too. And I did it! There's no feeling to describe how awesome it is to finish....plus I had absolute knowledge that I could've gone further. Way to go!!!!

I love reading the success stories, although I rarely comment. Let me just say, your after photo gave me goose bumps. What an AMAZING transformation!!!

It absolutely is one step at a time....one moment at a time....one breath at a time. We didn't get this way over the course of a day - it's been years and years of constant bombardment of "eat more" in our lives. You can do it! I have faith in all of us - because the moment we lose faith is the moment we lose the war. :(…

This morning I finished W5D1. I am terrified of this week - there is a 20-minute jog on D3...no walk breaks!!!! OMG. But, I do actually feel good. When I'm in the midst of the jogs, especially this morning, I find myself hearing all kinds of negative comments in my mind. I have tried to banish them, but it's hard. Oh, and…

1. Where are you in the C25K program right now? Just finished W4D3 this morning. 2. Do you always take rest days in between run days? YES! 3. Have you extended or shortened the C25K program at all? Not yet, and I'm hoping not to at all. I know, listen to your body...but the first time I take a break is the time I'm afraid…

I do Week4Day3 tomorrow - and I use the Active.com Couch-to-5-k app on my Android phone. I never, ever thought I could even complete 60 seconds of jogging but now I am doing 3-minute and 5-minute sections. I have done a good 10 or so 5ks in the past couple of years, always walking them, and this past weekend just did one…

I have been scared of every week as they come - tomorrow I complete W4D3. I am terrified of W5D3 - I can't believe that in one week from tomorrow I'll be expected to run 20 minutes straight!

WAY TO GO!!!!

You look GREAT! What an inspirational story. :)

I am currently just under your weight range (yay!) - 241# 5' 9" female. I have been walking 5ks for a year or two now, and usually finish them in around 52-54 minutes. I just did one on Saturday that I jogged and walked and finished 46:19 - my fasted yet! I wasn't planning on jogging, so of course didn't wear the right…

I just finished Week 4 Day 2 - that second 5-minute jog this morning was brutal, but I didn't stop! Just be prepared - it's MUCH more of a mental challenge than a physical one. You CAN do it!!! Tell that voice in your head to shut up and keep running. :)

OMG, I'm starting Week4 on Friday...I just looked at W5D3 and about puked! I'm so nervous about W4D1 - but something I've definitely learned along the way is that this is a HUGE mental task. Seriously, it's way more mental than physical! Listen to music that pumps you up, slow songs in the rotation are not good. Don't…

Keep on keepin' on in the C25K program. Lose 5lb. RIDE!

I had a C25K NSV today ... a big one, if I do say so! Today I completed W3D2....this is the EXACT day that I stopped on the last time I tried to do this program. I remember I got to the second 3-minute run and just quit...I never did another day after that. Today, I proudly and happily completed it and felt GREAT!

I have and LOVE Ricky Martin's "Cup of Life" - especially when he's singing "do your really want it? yea! do you really want it? ya!" I also must have: Jennifer Lopez - Let's Get Loud Beyonce - Ring the Alarm, Single Ladies Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl, Wind it Up Destiny's Child - Soldier Lady Gaga - Just Dance,…

Way to go!!!!

Not just the shoes!!! You need to do the proper stretches before and after! Active.com and coolrunning.com have a TON of great tips on injury prevention - and stretching. I was 248# when I started - am half way through week 2 now and am at 242#. Don't concentrate on how far you go, concentrate on breathing and good…

My dog does the C25K with me! She will be 3 in May, and is a GoldenDoodle - a direct cross of Standard Poodle and Golden Retriever (she is mostly Standard Poodle). She weighs 68# and is all legs. She just loves going out with me, and is a GREAT jogging partner. I do make sure, however, that she gets out to do her…

W2D1 - done. I realized this morning that the app I have now, from active.com, is really different than the last one I used to try to do this. The last one was 2 weeks in a row of jog 60 seconds, walk 90 seconds. Today (W2D1) was jog 90seconds, walk 2 minutes. Kind of surprised me, but I got it done. Good luck to everyone!

Welcome! As for why I want to be a runner. Hmmm, I don't really know why. lol There's just "something" that pulls me to it.

Right now I'd say I am very happy with those "100-calorie" packets, especially the Hostess cupcakes ones. Even though they aren't the "real" thing, it's enough of a taste that I find myself satisfied. I also LOVE Thomas' English Muffins - the Triple Health or high fiber ones. They are 100 calories for an entire muffin (so…

I am so right there with all of you! The craziest thing, for me, is that I lose weight - say 5#, and all of a sudden I think "wow, I got this. No worries, I know what I'm doing and don't need to count anything anymore." Seriously, 5# and I think I'm a pro...and I have 95# more to go?!?! W.T.F?!? I also find myself…

Week1, Day2 down. Interesting stat differences in just 2 days: On Day 1, I went 1.72 miles at 17:23 min/mile On Day 2 (today), I went 2.11 miles at 14:14 min/mile The only thing I changed was focusing even more on my breathing and form - and in focusing on form I believe I increased my pace a bit. Overall, I feel great so…

Well, I had a GREAT start and then our school system was attacked by the "norovirus" - a nasty, nasty intestinal bug. So, my son and I both were down for the count for several days. Hopefully tomorrow will be Week 1 Day 2.

Week 1, Day 1 - DONE! I have to say it would've been very easy to talk myself out of it. Jogging at 6:30am - are you crazy?!? But, I've had enough of the excuses and drug myself out. Overall, it went great. I really concentrated on breathing and form, and that helped. I found that just when I would completely catch my…

Razz - Thanks so much for all the tips (and friending me)! I have over-the-ear type earbuds for my iPod, so I'm good there. I also already have shoes from a store here called Up and Running - so good there. As for motivation, I take my super-fit goldendoodle pup with me - she's all the inspiration I need to keep going. And…

My input? Life is too short to be unhappy! But, I think you might not have enough information to make a decision. The mare you've been offered - have you ridden her lately? You might want to try her in the same situations as your current horse...would give you a better and more accurate comparision! From just the info…

Welcome, and good luck to you in ALL your goals! :)
