HI everybody, I am doing better eating cucumbers before 4 pm. The crunch is keeping me chewing and the water is calming me down. How are you doing? Any tips that work for you that I could use?

Oh for a tip, I started brushing my teeth to tell myself Eating Time is OVER!

I am really hardly at step One here. I made fudge too last week so that I can sneak in the freezer anytime, any time. Sometimes knowing that I can, I don't. Stinkin' thinkin' someone called it once. I agree because I do plan sometime to go there and get my chocolate- it is always in the back of my mind that I could. I…

Good evening I should say. It is 5 pm in Hawaii now. I swam a mile in an hour for the 2nd day in a row. I am putting it first in the morning and so proud of myself. I don't see the scale go down, but have a sassiness to me that I like :) Keep showing up, ok? Sending positive thoughts to everyone here :)

Maybe this will help choosing foods that will satisfy your cravings in a balanced, thoughtful way, from deepak again. Looking for foods that are nourishing your body without overdoing how much you eat: SWEET - nurturing yourself or nauseating yourself if eat too much (milk protein 2% milk) SALTY - enthusiasm or aggravating…

No allergies here. I have been tested. So going for a more non-food approach I have listened to Deepak Chopra. STOP - Stop what you are doing - so no impulsive eating. Take a deep breathing break - to clm down. Observe your hunger level on a scale from 1 to 5 with 5 being famished. Proceed with awareness, and you might…

THANK YOU! I sure need help exactly in this area. And no time like the present to solve my problem. For years I have been shooting myself in the foot with too many unnecessary calories at night. Tomorrow I am going to the store to stock up on yummy vegys and maybe buy a dip to encourage replacing the treats. You can friend…

I LOVE COUNTRY! Everyone should live in a small town for some time in their life. I lived for 12 years in a town of 8000 which was big compared to surrounding cities - the seat of the county was 2500 with most towns running around 250 people. It was quite a change for this suburb girl!!! I learned that what I do impacts…

So true for me, and healthy as it is, it just ain't that healthy to eat the whole jar, right? I avoid eating it, but when I do, look out! :blushing:

Great question! Thanks again for starting the group Lisa too. I am not doing too bad. I am paying more attention to my calories esp at dinner. Also getting hyped about exercise lately. I want to move more during the day. I am not feeling real ecstatic yet that I have made a difference but I do feel on-track. I esp do like…

SCARY!! Since I am still developing good eating habits right now, breaking up my momentum with Thanksgiving and holiday eating is scary. :frown: I think my approach will be to practice, practice, practice - high protein, low carbs. I don't need the high calorie sides - gravy, dressings or the high calories desserts -…

Love the attitude of living large without gaining!!!

You rock! To not have booze in the house is respectful of your husband's commitment to be healthy.

Way to go Sophie, being honest, open and reaching out for support is healthy. That mental attitude of yours will carry the day for sure! I am relating to your mobile job as I have had my share of that in my work as a school psychologist. What do you do? I am in Hawaii and sunshine certainly helps stabilize my mood level.…

Thanks! I am going on a trip for 2 wks and will be indoors a lot. These online workouts will help.

I feel hesitant because if I was to post a challenge I may not reach it and then I have to deal with failure again. :frown: I have issues you can tell that apparently do hold me back from giving it my all. I am working on getting around them ...somehow, like maybe by seeing others try, I will want to try, no matter what. I…

I replied and didn't attach. Sorry.

Hi, I would like to give you support too! I am here to stay focused. I am 5'1" on my tallest day and have come to believe that it really is hard for me to lose even 1 lb of weight when I maintain my weight at 1400 calories a day. How am I supposed to get a loss of 1 lb a week on such few calories? It is a lot of mental…

Hey Lisa, thanks for starting this group! Sending Aloha! I am a semi-retired school psychologist and learning to live an active lifestyle. I have 20 lbs to lose and need help because my trend is to lose a few and gain them back. I joined MFP 2011 and actually gained 10 lbs that stressful year. I recommitted Jan 2013 but…
