Yeah - for real lettuce wraps you can't really get around soy-sauce (which is liquid salt!), but think outside the classic Asian-flavor box. No reason a shrimp lettuce wrap can't be salsa-fied, or curried. :)

Finally caught up a bit - everything looks wonderful folks! Thanks so much for posting. I'm starting to feel lame for not participating lately! Ok - I'll fix that! I'm cooking a boatload of stuff this weekend to make freezer-food for a friend who's having minor surgery next week. I'll keep my camera handy. :)

Do you like shrimp? Cocktail shrimp marinated in a bit of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and herbs makes a nice base for a quickie-snack lettuce wrap. Also try edamame in pods from the freezer section. Nuke and eat the beans out of the pods. I like 'em plain or with a wee bit of salt if I don't have a weigh-in for a couple…

Once in a while, you just need pizza. I have pizza now and then - just a whole lot less than I used to. :) Sometimes I can satisfy the craving with a flatbread pizza. The Flat-out brand wraps are great for that. If you go easy on the cheese (which you have to with such a thin crust), it's only a couple hundred calories. I…

Recipe Wednesday! I'm trying to get more fish into my diet - and I'm warming up to it. Salmon is one of my favorites and here's one of my favorite ways to prepare it: Salmon with dill "pesto" 1 lb of salmon filets 1 bunch of fresh dill 1 clove of garlic 1 Tbsp lemon zest (grating works well - careful to get only the yellow…

Working hard to squeeze in the exercises the past couple of days... it's been tricky with travel Monday, working Tuesday and hosting book-club Tuesday night. 3-minutes of planks is painful... as are the mountain-climbers! Gak! I love that this challenge makes me do things I wouldn't otherwise do willingly. ;)

I'm in Columbus too, but haven't even heard of fitbit! I'll have to look into it. :) I sometimes organize local MFP peeps for get-togethers. If you'll msg me your e-mail addresses, I'll add you to the list for the next meet-up.

NSV Monday: Yesterday I jogged for 1 minute and 45 seconds straight. And that was after doing five 1-minute jogging intervals. AND it didn't kill me! Now, to put this in perspective - I haven't jogged in over 15 years! It was hard... but I could DO it. Totally surprised myself! This was part of the Couch to 5k (C25k)…

Oh - and my SW is 265.7.

Congratulations on your win Virgo! :) Oooh Oooh! I'm in! I'm bringing home a postcard from Germany because someday I'm going to win one of these! :)

Hi everyone! I'm pleased to report that I've been logging while vacationing! (I didn't think I would...). No hope for the clean-eating challenge, I'm afraid. I've finally got some photos up, if your curious/interested. Most of the pics are commented with more information about what you're seeing. :) Frankfurt (so far):…

We are totally crazy, wicked-awesome! What a group! :) I showed a gain this week, but I'm blaming my friend's scale for it! Actually, I had a rough week and ugly food diary, but I'm feeling a little saner despite being on vacation. :) Hope everyone's having an awesome weekend!

I'll be a little AWOL here for the next several days. Hurray! Vacation! Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll check in when I can, and definitely Monday! --- Recipe Wednesday! This one's kind of a cheat because it's soooo quick and easy, but it's also really quite wonderful. Orange Rosemary Pork 1 pork loin roast (about…

I don't vacuum and mop every day, and tend to break a sweat when I'm doing it - so I'l log that as moderate housework. Otherwise, the usual stuff (dishes, laundry, bed making, toilet scrubbing) is just living. :)

Sodium can create havoc with the scale. Try setting your diary to show you sodium (Settings > Diary settings) and keep an eye on it for a few days or a week. Maybe that will make a difference? And like someone else said - water, water, water! It's hard not to get discouraged - but stick with it. You're doing the right…

I made this last month. I love chicken salad, but it's best (and evilest) loaded with Hellmann's mayonnaise. I've found lots of lighter versions out there that sub fat-free mayo, but I can't stand that stuff. My weekly produce delivery brought some awesome red seedless grapes and I couldn't resist the call of chicken salad…

NSV Monday! Just a little one - but I noticed in the past week that I can sleep on my tummy much more comfortably these days. Woohoo! :)

Catching up! @ naesue - thanks for posting your pics! Your hard work is totally evident. You look lovely. :) Sounds like the funeral went as well as could be expected, and you've done remarkably well for yourself with it all. Good luck with your biopsy... i'll be thinking of you! @ BrendarB - thanks for the recipe. Hope…

Yeah! What she said! And a hearty congratulations to all the other teams. Wicked-great burns! Get crunchy, girls!!!

Awesome work everyone! Great week last week!

Week 1 wrap-up: - Water was 8 or more every day! - Pushups = 240 (I skipped yesterday and forgot I wouldn't have today. Still - it's heaps 'n' gobs more than I've ever done in a week before. Like, EVER! :) - I put in 9.5 miles this week, one of which I actually jogged, not all at once, but even 30 sec intervals was a huge…

I'm going to piggyback on NeuroticVirgo's excellent advice. Making a grocery list is key for me too, and so is making sure I've eaten before shopping. I try to go after a meal, but even a Fiber One bar on the way there seems to help. In order to make my list, I decide what I'm going to cook and prep for snacks for the…

Maybe adapt one of your favorite recipes? You could try a crustless quiche - the crust has heaps of calories. Or sub phylo for the pie crust. To cut calories try half eggs, half egg whites/egg substitute. Spinach and feta are wonderful - and since feta is a strong flavor, a little feta goes a long way - you don't need as…

TNAJackson - what's goin' on girl?

Congratulations on your win sixxbaby! I missed this... but I'll catch you guys next round! :)
-
I can't quite believe it... :) I'm at 240 pushups (modified with exercise ball), and 4.5 miles 1 of which was jogging.

That's quite a difference! I think I used ground round, not sirloin. That could make the difference, I think. I don't use the recipe tool here - I find it awkward. I've owned another piece of calorie-counting software called DietPower for a while, and it's great at recipes! I just took the nutrition info per serving from…

No, the meat goes in raw - mixed with the uncooked rice, etc. Hope you enjoy it! :)

Thanks for making room for the RADICAL REDS! :) I'll put my MFP calories burned in my diary comments for each day and log my HRM (which is usually quite a bit lower) so I'm not tempted to eat my MFP calories. ;) Good luck and have fun everyone!
