Recipe Wednesday! I love making fajitas and having leftover components in containers in the fridge for quick healthy meals later on. Here's my basic "recipe" Container 1 - Peppers and Onions 1 large onion, cut into strips/thin wedges 2 sweet peppers cut into strips * Grill in a grill basket or on high-heat in a…

Mmmm cherry couscous! The chicken cacciatore looks great too! So does the chicken wild rice salad. This thread makes me hungry - time for bed! :) Thanks everyone for posting. I haven't cooked anything photo worthy, but will be heading to Germany next week and will post some foodspotting pics here, if that suits. :)

What a shock! Thoughts and prayers with you and your family. The pie won't make you feel better... especially the whole darned thing. But it's not unreasonable to have a slice.

Ok... I don't run. However... I've jogged a total of 0.5 miles so far. That's at least 0.5 miles more than I've run in over 10 years. LOL 180 pushups so far... still gotta catch up on some. Water's the one part of this week's challenge that's coming easy. ;) Crazy challenge! Thanks jrdoty!

LOL - I thought we were running 3 miles per day! Cumulative for the week though - what a relief! :) I was gonna gamely try it though... and might still! I've jogged 1/4 mile so far, just doing intervals on a treadmill. I haven't tried to run in ... 10 years! Woohoo! :) 2.25 miles total so far 60 pushups so far (with…

Sweeet! I'm already terrified by the pushups. LOL

One more thing - there's a "Lose 10 lbs in October" challenge starting up if any of you are interested in joining. It has a bootcamp theme this month. ADTeachTX and I did September. I enjoyed it! Here's the link to sign up: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/354052-october-10-lb-bootcamp-challenge

I've been slacking on the forums! Want to catch up with you peeps! :) @ krismsulli: Sorry your bike outing wasn't quite what you expected, but it sounds like you had a great time anyway! That's awesome! @ Learning2LoveMe: Awesome NSV on the measurements! Your nephews are adorable. :) You totally recovered from that binge -…

this week's challenge: When I looked in the mirror, what’s the first thought I had? "Eeewwww". I've gotta 'fess up... I've had a terrible time with this week's mirror challenge. I really can't stop the critical thoughts when I look in the mirror. I mean, actually *look* at myself. It's a crazy-spot with me. I can be…

I'm in! Bootcamp sounds terrifying! LOL. I've got a 10-day vacation coming up this month, but I'm hoping the challenge will help me stay on track more than I otherwise would. Looking forward to it! :)

Lots of nice losses out there this month! Good show folks! I have 134 more steps to go, and a date with the !@#$%-ing stairmaster at the gym. I'll probably end about 1700 - half from the stairmaster and half from just taking extra laps down to the 1st floor and back up again at the office. I'm down 11 lbs this…

And 270.6 this morning. LOL - just reversed those lat two digits.

Thank you! I've a couple of veggie friends I cook for now and then, and my repertoire is limited. I do meatless meals on occasion too, and plan to play more with lentils, quinoa, and bulgur wheat just for my little ol' self. :)

Recipe Wednesday (under the wire...) Balsamic-Glazed Salmon Filets :http://allrecipes.com/recipe/balsamic-glazed-salmon-fillets/detail.aspx This recipe is quick and darned good on salmon. I'm sure it would be lovely on chicken too.

Is that dill and chives I see? Man, it doesn't look spicy! Looks totally YUM!

NSV Monday! Hiking in a region called Hocking Hills last weekend had me hiking UPHILL a heck of a lot! Cool thing? I was able to not only keep up with, but outpace most of the other grownups and even a couple of the kids! I'm getting stronger under my "fluff". Yeah! :) Godhas8 - fantastic loss this week! NeuroticVirgo -…

We've had some great losses this week! Good work everyone! Not everyone's week-2 weights are in yet, but so far we've lost almost 62lbs as a group (thanks for the total, Russ). That's awesome!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend! The kids ran the grownups ragged over a couple of days. We did a fair bit of hiking and…

Oooh - all the new posts from the past couple of days look wonderful! Thanks everyone! :)

Hi everyone! I have to say, not peeking at the scale halfway through the week was... uncomfortable. I was sort of in a tizzy about my weigh in this morning. Down 2.4 lbs from last week though *happy dance*. Fitness friday, eh? This is definitely my weak spot at the moment. I dunno if it's the dreary weather. or that my gym…

You people are wonderful! Thanks so much for so many great ideas!

I work for Kahiki Foods - we make frozen asian dishes. Our test kitchen is constantly trying to find ways to reduce the sodium and sugar in our sauces and still make them taste good. For something like orange chicken, the sugar has to stay. (Sorry). Brown sugar might give a deeper flavor. I think if you dust the chicken…

NeuroticVirgo ~ That is a big wall of pure evil there! The way I was feeling today I'd have walked out with one of everything. You, my dear, showed remarkable restraint (and good taste) with the poprocks. ;)

Everything here looks sooooo good! :) Here's a slightly lighter apple-pear crisp with a tiny scoop of Hagen Daz Five Vanilla. Makes me wish I could handle lactose better... ;) 213 calories, 5g fat (mostly from the walnuts), 4g fiber, 12g sugar, 3g protein. Recipe (it's a work in process): 3 med apples, cored and chopped…

You're not alone! You have this whooooooooole site full of understanding supportive people! You can do this! Don't look at the big picture... just one day at a time. Make TODAY great. Besides - you know you can do it... you're already 20 lbs down... check this out:…

Recipe Wednesday! I posted this earlier in my "status" thingy, but it's easy to miss that stuff. I tried this Peanut-Butter Banana Muffin recipe substituting natural peanut butter for the stuff used in the recipe (didn't have it at the time, but found it tonight at Trader Joe's). I also used whole wheat flour instead of…

Honey, you have every reason to be angry and scared. I would be too. My OBGYN was encouraging me to take a special (as in not covered by insurance) HPV test a year ago. I explained that I'd been monogamous with my (now ex-) husband for more than 12 years. She said it can be dormant for years. So... that's the long way of…

I bought the GI diet book a while back for about $11 on Amazon.com - do you have it? Some fruits are better than others. I think if you're doing that diet and stay away from the high GI fruits and eat the low ones you won't need to be concerned about the MFP sugar number. I'm at the office and my book is at home - but I'll…
