  • Glad you are back, mama! I think we all need breaks once in a while, yours was very well-deserved after hitting your scale goal. Plus, these babies are getting busier and don't always give us free time to log our food :) So happy that you have a solution to Jaxon's sleep issues. It will make a world of difference if you…
  • When I started up again at 6 weeks, my lack of core strength was very obvious to me, but I regained strength fast. I was active throughout my pregnancy and pre-pregnancy I was in great shape, but there was just no way for me to maintain that level of fitness and muscle tone once the third trimester had it's way with my…
  • My son slept in our room until he was 6 months old. Prior to that, he really wasn't interested in his crib. I remember that he got really clingy around 6 weeks old. He wouldn't nap unless someone was holding him. I ended up getting a Moby wrap so I could wear him during the day and still get things done around the house.…
  • I'm probably drinking 70oz per day - 120 something seems like a lot! I'd be peeing 24/7!
  • I wouldn't be happy if my kid was fed candy simply for completing the work he is already expected to do...
  • I think we're all pretty different when it comes to postpartum weight loss, but here are my stats for comparison: I gained 44 pounds during pregnancy - I was athletic and healthy the whole way through but I had GD. I ate TDEE - 10% (so 2000 calories) + breastfeeding calories (500) + exercise calories for the first 6 months…
  • I thought this was an interesting read, thanks for posting!
  • I gained 44lbs - despite eating ridiculously healthy and exercising throughout my entire pregnancy. I lost it all right away, though.
  • Any chance she's teething? Some babies struggle with breastfeeding if their gums hurt. I was going to say the same thing as Mewlingstork - about breasts not feeling that full, especially later in the day. If the diapers are wet and baby is growing, that's a sign that she's getting enough. I can never pump as much as Max…
  • I love this!
  • I'm standing right beside you as the #worstmotherever - whenever I have iced green tea, I let Max drink some. I'm impressed that he can drink from a Starbucks venti straw, so I let him.
  • This is a great success story :)
  • Mine came back at exactly 7 months PP. Still breastfeeding at 9.5 months and getting regular periods now. Also: Booooooooooo (thumbs down). Periods suck!
  • There is a night stand beside the rocking chair in the baby's room. Top drawer stocked with chocolate. When the baby wakes up in the middle of the night, I'm not excited to get out of bed until I remember I have chocolate. I never log it, either.
  • Haha me too :)
  • My husband watches our son for 1.5 hours every Monday and Tuesday evening - gives me enough time to get to the gym and do a fitness class. I value the "me time" and my husband likes the one-on-one time with our little guy. And I'm only gone for 1.5 hours, so I don't miss dinnertime and I get some baby play time in before…
  • I let Max watch tv!
  • 5'9'' and my goal weight is 149 - just so I can hit the 140s
  • I would choose 1) breastfeeding So convenient, and I get to hog the baby that way :)
  • Eventually she will realize that she has the potential to move herself around, and she'll want to move around so badly that she will embrace being on her tummy. It will happen, don't let it worry you!
  • I think all babies approach solids differently. At 8 months, Max was eating 2 meals per day (3 oz each) and snacks and breastmilk. At 9 months I have him eating 3 meals a day plus snacks and breastmilk. To encourage the pincher grasp, I put puffed rice on Max's high chair tray. He loves it and it doesn't have strange…
  • Mine didn't gain anything either! But - he was amazing and followed the GD diet with me throughout my pregnancy. I think he gained a few pounds after Max was born because my lactation cookies disappeared really fast. He's back in fighting shape now, though. I agree that men have it easier in the post-baby weight loss!
  • I've just been sleeping in a nursing sleep bra, makes for easy night nursing, plus I get too hot wearing much more than that. When it was colder I just wore a robe over my nursing bra and untied it before sitting down to nurse. I also had a nightgown that buttoned down the front, that was pretty handy. I got it in the old…
  • Thank you all for your awesome replies! You all made me feel SO much better. It's nice to know that your babies went through the same thing! Max is a good eater. In addition to getting breastmilk 6x per day, he eats solids for breakfast (3 cubes) and dinner (3 cubes of baby food or whatever we're eating). He also eats…
  • Be strong, mama! Every week that you exercise and eat well is putting you closer to your goal and making you healthier overall!
  • Yes to a crapload of water! Also make sure you're getting enough calories. Especially if you're breastfeeding! Also, don't stress out about it. You're 2 weeks PP - sleep and baby snuggles are more important :)
  • I just wanted to give you a high five and tell you that your birth story is awesome! I have mad respect for women who do home births, I'm so freakin anxious, I'm sure my uterus would stay closed up like a bear trap unless I was in the hospital. Congrats on your baby! I'm a SAHM currently, too. I can't leave my little guy…
  • This!
  • I'm struggling with this right now. My husband and I were both raised by stay-at-home-moms, and agree that it would be the best thing for Max. When we take the money factor out - it makes sense for me to stay home. Spending all day at work and putting Max in daycare doesn't feel right if we don't need my income. BUT - I'm…
