I think I'm fine with him having a sippy cup - he grabs my travel mug and tries to drink out of it (it's how I drink my water). I just don't really understand why I would give him water when I could give him breastmilk. Breastmilk would hydrate the same as water, plus he would get the added nutrition, right? Plus, if he's…

I can't stand the taste of kale but I wanted to eat it because of its nutritional benefits. Made these and they were good. Tasted surprisingly like regular potato chips...

Love your story, and love the pictures of your "firsts". You look healthy and happy and awesome, great job!!!

Great story! You look awesome

Bloated and miserable and stuck on the couch? No thanks. I'm hitting the gym.
-
You've done a great job! What do you contribute your success to?

This is so happening.

Check out the Fit, Fabulous & Pregnant group. There are lots of awesome mommies-to-be there!

I'm 5'9'' and my goal weight is 155lbs. I'm two pounds away from 155, I might readjust to a goal of 150, but I can't see myself going lower than that. I have an athletic build and I plan on keeping my muscle.

Fisher Price Space Saver was recommended to me, too. We ended up getting a full size chair (Evenflo Modern) because we have the space and I got a smokin deal on it. High chairs are stupidly expensive! We are probably going to get a smaller one for visiting other places though. For everyday use I like having the big one.…

I'm here to read replies to this one, I've been wondering about this as well.

I have the tv on fairly often while Max is playing on the floor. Sometimes he watches it, sometimes he doesn't. At first I was worried that I was a bad mom, but as long as tv doesn't replace personal interaction, I don't think it's anything to worry about. Glad I'm not alone!

I am totally going to do this! But with real bacon

All of my tests were done in one day: a fasting draw when you get there in the morning, and a 1 hour followed by a 2 hour draw. If you fail any of them you are diagnosed with GD. I think I only failed the fasting test. I'm in Canada though, maybe the diagnostics are different here. Different doctors have different…

Bump away, spread the cookie love! Mmm cookies...

I'm not afraid of calories

This exactly. If you have GD, you have GD. You can't do anything about it. And to be honest - having GD was kind of a blessing in disguise. I ate a perfect diet throughout my pregnancy and got tons of exercise, and ended up having a super healthy baby. I probably would have given in to pregnancy cravings if I wasn't…

Congrats on the little one! I waited until my 6 week checkup and after that I got back to the gym. I took it pretty easy at first and gradually upped the intensity of the activity I did. It was pretty slow-going at first. I've kept my calories pretty high (TDEE - 10%) because I want to keep a good milk supply and I want…

I do Zumba because I love it so much. The calorie burn is just a wicked bonus :)

This! Wow! Plus it's a first and only post! That's something special!

If your supply is dropping, this could be a sign that you need more calories. Make sure you are eating a good healthy diet so your little one gets super milk. Lots of water and oatmeal can help bump up supply, too. Most women add 500 calories on top of what they're already eating to account for breastfeeding. I'm eating…

I'm just here for the gifs. I  bunnies

Just a warning to all of you: you might want to make a double-batch. Apparently husbands like these cookies, too. I heard my husband sneaking into the freezer all the time

I know nipple stimulation can cause contractions, but I thought milk production didn't take place until the placenta detached (I could be totally wrong). With regards to tearing: I had heard that consistent taint massages were supposed to be helpful, but I never got around to it. I delivered a 9lb baby au naturale with…

If someone suggested I substitute a hard boiled egg instead of a chocolate egg, I'd be like "bish please, ain't happening."

I don't really reward myself. Not on a "X number of pounds" scale anyways. But I do get new clothes when my other ones don't fit as well. Good reason to go shopping

We have an AngelCare monitor. I love it because I can see and hear Max. I can hear him fussing around or breathing so I know he's alive. I like the video because I can see if he has wiggled himself into a strange position or if his arms or legs are stuck out of the crib. Plus, if he is breathing really quietly, I can see…

My little guy was 9lbs. He wore a newborn outfit home from the hospital (it barely fit) and went right into 0-3 month clothing. You'll get more use out of the 0-3 month stuff, who cares if it's a bit loose, and if you have a tiny baby you can always go out and buy some smaller stuff.

Nap time = mommy freedom. Put the little one in a stroller or carrier and get walking, or throw in a DVD. Get someone to watch the baby while you get a quick workout in. Do it for your health and your sanity. You have to make time for it, or it won't happen. You also deserve that time for yourself. You can do it, mama!…

Already did it. Will do again.
