haven't worked up the courage for that, but my guess is to use a HRM that will give you calories burned over the entire workout.

I was kidding...I didn't take offense!! I will say that it's hard. I had pre-eclampsia so she needed to come out 2 months early. They tried to induce me. Nothing. When you are 2 months shy of 44 and never carried a baby to term let alone given birth your body is simply NOT going to give it up 2 months early. C-Section for…

*** I find this very refreshing b/c my BIL just got divorced after 23 years of marriage and no kids. We suspect that ex-wife wouldn't adopt, especially because she dropped off the face of the earth when we adopted 5 years ago. He's 51, looks great and is fit. We want nothing more than for him to find a nice chickadee like…

Well then I'm a freak of nature. IVF didn't work for us. I would conceive and then miscarry at 6 to 8 weeks. So after the last miscarriage, at 43, we gave up. Fast forward 4 months. Sick as a dog and no cycle since miscarriage. Doctor says come in...could have an infection from miscarriage. Nope. 4 months pregnant.…

I come in second so far. 43, but only because she showed up 2 months early! So yes, I'll be reading AARP when she's in junior high.

Here. And tired too. I have a 5 year old who starts kindergarten in Sept, and a 2 and 1/2 year old. And I'm 46! 5'2 and 1/2 (very proud of that 1/2 inch). Have lost 20 but need to lose at least another 40 to get down to 137 (healthy weight per WWs).

I am literally crying in my office because I am laughing so hard!!!

bumping for excellent suggestions!!

I agree that it's tough, but everyone makes it work in their own way. You will too! My guess is that you'll go through ebbs and flows, depending upon the kids' ages. Sometimes you'll feel that you've got it together, other times you'll feel overwhelmed. It's perfectly normal. If it's any consolation, I have lost 20 pounds…

I have found that too....with 300 calorie cut I'm under my RMR (actual...to the extent possible based upon a MetaCheck breathe test), not calculated). So I am going to set MFP at RMR at eat all exercise calores. Won't be started NROL for a while, but am lifting with a trainer

I too have grown tire of the hard boiled eggs and am going to try the egg muffins. I also like to have greek yogurt with fruit...you could mix a protein powder in there to add even more protein.
-
Thank you. I'm not sure that I would pay for the RMR testing, as I have that at my gym (MetaCheck Breathe Test). Also, it's my understanding that RMR testing with the bod pod is simply punching in the BF% obtain from the bod pod into the various calculations that are out there (meaning I could do it myself). Not sure if my…

I've been doing it since May...feel free to add me as a friend!

Do you mind if I asked what you paid for the bod pod?

Thanks. I started with the bod pod but can't seem to get anyone to call me back!!!

Bump and thanks to all contributors. Trying to cut back on my carbs and have been lurking on this board, but didn't get the reference to MIM! My biggest offender is my morning oatmeal, so these will help.

Hi. I've read the book and plan on doing this after completing NROL for Abs. Question though--why is Stage 6 optional? Isn't the whole point of the book that we need to get stronger and build muscle so that our metabolisms increase? Why would anyone skip Stage 6? What am I missing? Thanks!!
-
I recently found it but haven't seen much activity. I wish there was--I'd like to talk to others who are doing WW PP but also counting calories/watching macros.
-
I've done WW since May 1st and have lost 20.4 pounds. I think that it's an excellent program because if you follow the GHGs you really are eating well, plus there's support in terms of both the meetings and the boards. I don't like that you can't track macros, so that's why I've started to track on MFP also. It's time…

bumping this because I just go the FT80 and don't understand the Vo2max aspect

correct. 1693 (typo in OP) before the cut. So yes, that's his calculation of TDEE, I guess. Meaning cut from that to lose. And not eat exercise calories. I guess because his activity multipliers are just an estimate and I do have a HRM I figured that it was easier to eat RMR plus all exercise. In theory I should maintain…

regarding protein, I've heard both, but it's my understanding that if you're trying to maintain or build muscle, go for the higher number, so that's 50% protein for me. that leaves me with only 25% each for fats and carbs. curious whether I can even go that low carb, and my guess is that I won't hit the fact. We'll see.…

Wow. Just saw my typos. Obviously meant that I'm trying to retain or build muscle and lose fat. Thanks for your response.
