  • After a multiple month haitus I've returned to logging. I have only about 15 lbs to lose. Prefer those who log food as I'm always looking for new ideas for meals.
  • I log daily for now. Feel free to add me. I comment some but not necessarily daily.
  • Generally, yes though I don't add the few vitamins I take but I've seen people who do and it can add more calories than you think. When I was sick last month I added cough drops for a couple of days and was surprised that it ended up being 80 or 90 calories for the day. I didn't enter them at first because it never…
  • feel free to add me ... I like to look at food diaries especially when I get in a food rut.
  • I don't do cheat days. I'm not on any special diet. I don't consider foods good or bad though I recognize some are better for my health than others. I'm working on portion control and limiting alcohol intake. I love cocktails but they don't love my waist so I imbibe only on Friday & Saturday and usually limit to a couple…
  • I am serious about losing about 20 pounds and getting fit slowly so as to create permanent habits. I love lifting weights but as I age I find that it's more difficult to lift much poundage due to joint pain. Like you I want to create a permanent lifestyle change in regards to weight and fitness. As a naturally thin person…
  • I don't currently have a gym membership but when I did I was there to get my workout in as quickly as possible and get out. I had no interest in chatting with others. I am improving my workout space at home as the gyms are too crowded during the time I want to go (on my way home from work) and frankly I prefer to work out…
  • another agnostic/humanistic here (raised that way) though I have attended a Unitarian Universalism church in the past when I felt a need for spirituality.
  • I'm open to adding people too.
  • Add me as a friend if you want. I like to read other people's food diaries to get new food ideas.
  • It depends on the event. When we go to someone's house I try to eat around it by having a light meal before going and then choosing very small portions of the healthiest items while there. When we get home I'll have a serving of nuts if I'm still hungry. When we meet friends or family at restaurants I try to check out the…
  • I use full fat Greek yogurt with berries or cherries for breakfast sometimes. I don't actually like yogurt but it works with the fruit. When I cook lamb I sometimes mix Greek yogurt with a bit of feta and cumin as a sauce. And I've also used it as a sour cream substitute. In the past I experimented with using it as a mayo…
  • I can sympathize. I got down to within five pounds of my goal a couple of years ago and then kept it off for a year. Sadly, it started creeping back on after a great vacation and a summer of too many cocktails. So here I am trying again.
  • I don't so much care about the BMI number because it's not particularly accurate in a lot of cases. I have a book that has some other numbers (though partially based on BMI) that calculates your weight from fat and your belly fat. To me that is more important based on what I've read over the last few years.
  • Feel free to add me. I'm only trying to lose about 20.
  • I only eat them back if I'm hungry or work out extra long so I can have alcohol on the weekends. I am pretty sure this site overstates the amount of calories actually burned anyway.
  • I make espresso and pour it over ice. It dilutes it enough so that it's still strong but needs nothing added.
  • I don't snack much but when I do I have about 1/4 of raw nuts.
  • I want to lose 20.
  • I'm 5'3" and small boned at about 135. Goal weight is 115 but well toned. Because my weight gain is mostly in the upper body (still have slender legs) I will be returning to weight lifting and walking. I'm more interested in getting my hour glass back.
  • Mine is open to friends but at the moment I am friendless as I removed everyone a while back because I wasn't on the site. Feel free to request an add. I only started logging again recently and I do a lot of recipes since often whatever I cook for dinner is lunch the next day and it makes it easier to get accurate results.…
  • rnelson88, the biggest problem with doing a whole 30 is that it can be difficult to do if you travel a lot and have to eat in restaurants where you can't control what you're eating. And it requires a certain amount of pre-planning if you socialize a lot or aren't home much. Carrying compliant Luna bars or a few snacks such…
  • I've done it several times but found it to be too restrictive for me. I do believe it's a good way to kick bad habits for people who eat a lot of processed foods or fast food. Also, if you read a lot of the logs on the site you can get some new ideas for eating using real food.
  • Last night I made pasta with pesto, tiny bit of crumbled feta and sauteed asparagus (chopped into the pasta). Today I added sauteed zucchini to the leftovers for lunch. Tonight I made soup with kale, bacon and diced potatoes. Tomorrow I'll make flounder and saute broccoli and bok choy in my leftover pesto. I like to dress…
  • Hugo: prosecco, lime juice, St Germain, muddled mint & splash of soda water. Prosecco is pretty low calorie compared to most alcohol. I've also experimented to coconut water & freshly squeezed lime with muddled mint. Or a nojito with muddled mint, freshly squeezed lime & sparkling water.
  • Greek yogurt & berries. Hard boiled eggs & fruit (hard boil a bunch of eggs one night of the week). Sometimes on the weekend I'll make a mix of bacon, diced potatoes and spinach and mix it into scrambled eggs. But you can just do spinach or other greens with sun dried potatoes if you're looking for something with fewer…
  • My boyfriend and I will be going to one of his relative's house. Given that I don't know what's on the menu it's hard to say what I'll eat but I plan to stick to meat, potatoes and salad. I don't like stuffing or green bean casseroles or a lot of the other traditional things people make. I find most deserts to be too sweet…
  • I'm 5'3" but small boned so I'm aiming for about 115 or so. I'm at 121.9 today and have been stuck there since August but I'm not actively working on it right now. I am more interested in working out and trying to get rid of some of the flab around the waist area than I am on being at a particular weight. Prior to putting…
  • I cook a lot and can't live without my scale. I also prefer the grams over ounces for most things. If you primarily buy prepackaged food it's probably not necessary. I do think they are very useful to learn portion control for those who have issues in that area.
