I have the same problem. I was in Europe for two weeks so logging wasn't an option. I walked a lot .. sometimes 3-4 hours a day which I had hoped would at least keep me from gaining. I wasn't even trying to lose. Unfortunately, too much beer/wine and good food did me in and I'm back where I started. For me, part of…

Definitely agree that you should have a snack. I generally eat 1200 calories a day during the week but more during the weekend mostly due to imbibing. :) It's not a lot of calories and I save a 100 or so for an evening snack.

I only weigh every other week on payday and always first thing in the morning so I have a consistent base to compare. I will always put in the actual amount whether it's plus or minus. Since I have only about 20 pounds to lose i expect to lose more slowly than someone who has significantly more to lose.

I grew up in the 60s-70s and we ate mostly from scratch. Meat, starch, salad and a veggie. Sadly, the veggies were mostly out of a can. My mom hated cooking so we had a small rotation of the same meals: chicken/mashed potatoes, spaghetti w/meat sauce, meatloaf/baked potato, etc ... always with a green salad and awful…

I can't sleep if I'm the slightest bit hungry so I've always eaten a snack within an hour of going to bed. I've done it my entire life and never had excess weight until recently (because of the evil menopause).

Yes ... go to My Home and then choose Goals. I found I had to change the protein first, the fat second and then let it choose the carb amount since I want low carb/high protein and i don't think low fat is good for humans at all. The body needs GOOD fat.

I looked at your diary for the last week and in general it looks like you eat healthier food (whole wheat pasta for example) but I would recommend more green veggies, limit yourself to one fruit a day and increase protein slightly and reduce carbs a bit. Also, it seems like some of entries are incorrect .. for example…

Larabars are calorie dense dried fruit and nut bars. I used to keep them around for a quick snack but ended up eating them too often. They''re probably one of the purist protein bars around because there's no junk in them, but I like to minimize my sugars from fruit. http://www.larabar.com/

I looked at the last few days of your food diary. You're not eating real food. Too many carbs/sugar and not enough protein or fat. Not to mention too many processed foods. I realize not everyone likes to cook or has time but here's a sample diet that is easy to make and far more nutritional. Breakfast: two eggs, berries…

While weight lifting and crunches help ... the only way I've ever found that helps lose the wasit is doing speed intervals everyday for 30 minutes.

Up until I hit 50 (three years ago) I've been naturally thin but still with a a small belly. Sadly, it's not a little larger than I'd like so I'm working on it again. I have found speed intervals does work to lessen it ... but it takes a very long time along with consistently doing it without breaks.

I like sauteed spinach (with garlic and onions) as a side for fish. We had it with halibut last night.

We grill a lot and put various vegetables coated in olive oil in a grill basket. It tastes really good that way ... better than saute. Some combinations: onions, baby bok choy, mushrooms or onions + something green (asparagas, broccoli rabe, etc). Another thing that's good is oven roasting carrots, radishes, turnips,…
