Hello everyone! I'm lurking here for now. I use to be a part of this or a similar group like 8 years ago and it was so instrumental in getting me on the road. Eventually I was doing organized races. I am currently suffering from a low lumbar sprain and am waiting to start treatment. Hopefully that will be any day here.…

@GiveHerGrace Nice work on consuming less Coke! Less is less! @MissMay I agree with replacing drinks with healthy snacks. Once when I went off alcohol for three months I found myself making chocolate pudding with graham crackers and whipped cream or homemade peanut cutter cups as a replacements every evening. Sugar is…

https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10851763/less-alcohol-january-2022-one-day-at-a-time/p1 This is a MFP group I joined earlier this month. I set out to drink "Less" and have actually not drank since starting it. There's this really cool free program called "The Alcohol Experiment" that I am doing as well.…

@kenziestabes Congrats on your low!

I like how people from other places (I live in the US) use ingredients I've never even heard of or have never thought to use. It's a good reminder to branch out if you feel like you always eat the same thing.

1. 90% dark chocolate bars. You could work your way up to these starting with like a 60%. I love eating them while drinking coffee 2. Coconut RX bars cubed into 1/2"x1/2" cubes and a side of walnuts or dried apricots 3. 1.5 Cup orange juice with 1/4 cup pomegranate juice 4. A small frosty, sugary coffee, or sweets from a…

You might consider exercising less or eating more. I know it's counter intuitive but sometimes it a great course of action through a plateau. Also, you said 3lbs down this month. I am assuming that means in the last 2.5 weeks? That's pretty good. You might convert from looking at the scale to measuring your body with a…

Working on my goals for the next couple months SW Dec. 2021:214lbs 1/2 :206.2 1/9 :204.9 1/16 :202 1/19: Not a weigh in day but I hit 199! It's been a while since I've seen that number! :p 1/23 1/30 Goal #1 196 by my birthday, Feb 4th. #2 consistent routine of working out 3 days a week #3 more alcohol free days than…

I have an exciting alcohol-related victory! I got on the scale this morning and found myself to be 199lbs! This is the first time in a while that I have been under 200! My goal is to loose another 30ish lbs by June. Not drinking 400-1000 calories a day is super helpful on my weightloss/get healthy journey. Victory is…

So it's not my weigh in day but today I hit 199.1 this morning!!! First time in the ones for a while! Super pumped!

It's been relatively easy for me too, giving up alcohol this month. Simultaneously, I cut back to 1 cup of caffeinated coffee a day and any subsequent cups are decaffeinated. I think I went from drinking like 4-5 cups a day to 2ish. I also discovered Athletica Brewing Company this past week which makes amazing AF craft…

When I get lighter, I get fewer calories too. To compensate, I work out so I can eat more. A 45 minute walk can yield me an extra 300 calories. I also try to not break fast until as late in the morning as I can make it. I always feel like once I start eating, I've woken the beast and this can result in wanting to eat more.…

Totally thought I posted here towards the beginning of the month but apparently not! I started at 214lbs around Christmas. Currently 202 and I am headed to 170 by June. I am not working out due to an injury however, I am renovating my house so I get a little extra movement in on the evenings and weekends. I eat around…

I am 5'9 and 3 quarters and 35 years old. I have been from 180 down to 155, 195 down to 175, and 215 down to 190 in my adult life. I am a yo-yo-er. I tend to reach a new high then drop to a new normal and on and on. Recently I hit 214 and decided it's time to get back to my healthy weight which I haven't seen in 10 years,…

Wow you look like your 20 years younger after loosing that weight! Nice work!

13 dry days and on an 11 day streak of being AF. The last time I went this long I was doing whole30 in march of 2018. Feels good! I've been having some vivid dreams about my ex-spouse the last week. I think my subconscious is doing some purging. Hopefully it helps me heal emotionally because I really would like to stop…

10/13 AF days in January and dry since I started here on January 6th. I had a sort of minor victory yesterday. My boss and I went out to lunch at a brewery and I was only minorly tempted to have a beer and burger. Instead, I told myself to order the Cobb salad and ice tea and If I still wanted a burger and beer when I was…

Sorry I’ve been so absent! I’m super busy between work and the remodel of my home which I’m doing myself! I think being busy had really helped my have dry days. I committed to have more AF days than not this month. Since joining here and signing up for The Alcohol Experiment and downloading “Dry Days” , I haven’t had a…

This is great stuff! I am 35 and went through a divorce last summer. My ex and I stopped drinking off and on over our 12 years together. We tried limiting, rewarding, cold turkey and in the end we always went back to drinking. Throughout our relationship, the alcohol abuse made an angry and verbally abusive side come out…

Hello, My name is Stacey and I have been around MFP off and on since 2011. I have successfully lost weight with MFP a couple different times. I am currently close to my highest weight. This last year I graduated school, started a new career, got divorced, bought a house, and have not really been focusing on my weight. I am…

This was going to be my question. I go to school and the cost of the gym/rec center is included in my tuition.
-
I just recently put my activity level as sedentary in the settings and let my steps roll over into MFP from my IOS device. Also, I think MFP programming has some sort of smart programming because I have seen in the past when I had it set to moderately active that it would actually doc me exercise calories in my diary at…

First mini goal? To be under 200lbs by my Disney land trip on 10/27 Second mini goal? To not gain weight while on vacation. :#

Remember that the 5 minutes you spend stretching after a workout will save you the 2-5 days of pain and soreness that can follow. Never skimp on the stretching.
