I broke my ankle back in February, so my "go to" exercise of running to the Y and jumping on the elliptical trainer for an hour 4x a week no longer became an option. I started doing yoga/strength training at home, to keep the pounds at bay as I healed, and I ended up losing ten pounds - a great incentive to continue! I…

I find I do the same thing. After two or three bites if I'm not *really tempted to continue, I just don't. I had a friend of mine call it willpower to stop, but I don't really see it that way anymore - I just want to SAVOR my food, and enjoy it, knowing that the calories count, and if I reach my daily budget on stuff…

Hon and Sweetie I totally don't mind, especially if they're said by a cute guy - but "dear" totally rubs me the wrong way - hate it, always have.

I'm also watching it, and love him, Lol ~ he's easy on the eyes anyway. ;) I remember him from the Rome series on HBO a few yrs ago, when he played Mark Antony. As for the show itself, I'm enjoying it, although initially I was kind of turned off a little with the gory factor.

I just changed mine, taken two days ago.

Creme Brulee or Chocolate Mousse = yum :)

Not buying the junk (cookies/ice cream, etc) so it's not even in the house to tempt me - and keeping a daily log of absolutely everything that I eat has helped quite a bit. I've also started enjoying a small Granny Smith apple every night (only 56 calories) - nice and sweet, with a bit of tartness - I never thought I could…

Great job Jason, you can totally see the difference! :) ~ Maureen

I've been in South Carolina since early 2004, about 30 mi outside of Charleston :) As for the DC area, my parents live in Fredericksburg, VA and my sister and her family live in Ashburn, so I visit VA a few times a year.

You can do it Maureli!! :)

Awww, thanks! Add ten years, I turned 42 in December :)

DON'T GIVE UP!! Acknowledge that there are going to be days when you don't feel like working out, or that piece of cake is just too tempting to walk away from ~ It's Ok, just get back on track and continue going. It's a weight loss JOURNEY - back to good health. You'll have days when it seems like nothing is changing, but…

The other day I posted a comparison picture (two pictures taken side by side, one in June of 2011, the other a week ago), and when it was still up, my 9 yr old came home from school. She actually stopped dead in her tracks, and said "Mom, no offense, but wow, you look SO different now. You were pretty then, but you're so…

Hi Everyone :) I'm Maureen, 42, mom to three (ages 9, 14, and 19) - newly divorced, and almost 50 pounds lighter since July 2011. I'd like to lose about 10-15 more pounds by July 2013, and would love to have the support and encouragement of other 40 and older ladies as my fellow travelers on this journey!

The jeans that I have in my closet right now are size 10, but they're falling off of me, and the belt I wear with them is on the tightest setting - so I grabbed what I thought was an 8 just to see if that might do the trick instead (feeling a little thrill thinking it might!) - when I realized AFTER I put them on that they…

Thanks Ladies, appreciate the encouragement and support!! :)

Unfortunately I think a lot of us can relate to that one!! I started losing a bit of weight prior to that, but this past year post separation/divorce gave me that added incentive! The first few months were the hardest, I had absolutely zero appetite, and forced myself to eat "something" just to get through the day - that…

That's awesome Emma, way to go!! It's totally the "non scale" victories that are such a thrill - I can absolutely relate :)

Thanks for the responses! :)

Wow, I didn't realize what a transformation had occurred until right now (shock). The picture on the left is me, back in June 2011, and the one on the right was just taken a few days ago, March 2013. I've not only lost 47 pounds, I've also reclaimed my health and my life!…

I have several, but I like the one by Mel B: Total Fit dvd (http://compare.ebay.com/like/160993067588?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar), especially the "tums" and "bums" section! :)

Perfect, I like that one! :)
