Does anyone else have trouble with carbs in creating or editing foods?
Whenever I create or edit a food, type in the carbs, and then save, when I look at the food, the carbs are way off. 10 turns into 22, 10.5 turns into 24.5, 25 turns into 37...Does anyone else have that issue?

Postworkout meal
Hey everybody, For my post-workout meal, I read in a book, Michael Matthews' Bigger, Leaner, Stronger, that I should eat, post workout, 30-40 grams of protein and 1 gram of carbs for every kilogram of body weight I have, which is 66. So I consume 30-40 grams of protein and 66 grams of carbs. The book recommends doing this…

Sodium Overdose!!
Hey all, Anybody else have problems keeping sodium in check? MyFitnessPal puts me at a daily limit of 2,300 mg, which is in line with common advice. But I always blow that out. Egg whites, chicken breast, turkey breast...frankly a lot of sources of protein jam up my sodium intake. This isn't counting things like mustard…

Calories and Macros
Let me know if I'm off on this, but I'm doing this: * Weight: 145 lb. * Body fat %: 9% * Phase: Bulking * Weight method: 5x5 for an hour workout, 4 times a week (when I hit 6 reps 5 times, I up the weight) * Cardio method: Doing HIIT sprinting 2 times a week at a 1-minute-to-1-minute ratio for 20 minutes total * Job: Desk…

Switch from Weight Loss to Muscle Gain
So here's a question I'm gonna throw out to you all. Just gathering some experiences and stories for conversation's sake. For those who first had to lose fat and then wanted to gain muscle, when did you decide to make the switch? Did you decide based on when you were satisfied with what the mirror showed? When you were at…

HIIT confusion
Hey all, I'm doing HIIT running at 20 minutes a session for a 1:1 ratio. I've been doing this for a while, but took a break because I got sick of the exhaustion and switched to walks. I actually don't mind the walks! The longer sessions to meet the same calories was not an issue for me if I had the time to spare. So let's…

What are the muscle groups?
What are the main muscle groups you consider when you go working out? What I mean is, how do you divide them? I have six different muscle groups: arms (which includes biceps, triceps), shoulders, abs (which includes obliques), chest, legs (which includes calves and glutes, though I have to admit I don't know any decent…

Recommend a Book!
Hey everyone, Just coming on here to see if I can get any book recommendations for gaining muscle. I find it hard to gain muscle (or maybe it's just because muscle comes slowly and I'm not aware I'm average), but I'm just looking for any recommendations for books that worked for other people. I'm not necessarily looking…

Calorie Maintenance Confusion
For my maintenance calories... Ok, I've worked out a few formulae that all put me around 2,000 calories for maintenance. Two thousand calories is what I hear is average (from conventional wisdom, which we all know could be faulty), and I'm so spot on average in maintenance calories it's almost textbook. But every time I…

30 minutes a day?
So the general norm now is adults are urged to exercise 30 minutes a day. I exercise for about an hour a day 5 days a week (two half-hour runs and the rest is weight training) and the other two days, usually Friday and Sunday. I need rest days. My body needs rest days. My muscles need rest days. But we're to exercise every…

Thermic Effect
Hi everyone, this may seem like a 101 questions, but a term that's always confused me is "thermic effect." I've read that protein has the highest thermic effect of the macronutrients. What exactly does that term mean?

Ingredient list: organic chicken broth
I'm trying to educate myself on some ingredients to foods, and I'm wondering if Home Goodness Organic Chicken Broth is good food. Here's the ingredient list. Some of these items I'm not so sure about. * organic chicken broth, which contains: -> water -> organic chicken flavor -> organic chicken broth -> organic carrot…

Pancakes
Can anyone find a decent pancake recipe? By "decent," I mean as few calories as possible and with the most natural, fewest ingredients? Even if it's not store-bought, if anyone knows a recipe to make the batter, I'm all ears. Also, if anyone knows of an all-natural chocolate flavouring I can use to jazz them up, that would…

Switching From Fat Loss to Muscle Gain
Hey everybody, I've finally gotten rid of the fat. I'm at 10.5% body fat, and I'm really pleased with myself. Along the way, I lost some muscle mass, but now that I'm where I want to be fat-wise, I'm switching gears to gain muscle. Is there anything I need to know about the transition? Should I bring my calories up to…

Those last few stubborn pounds!
Hi everyone, I've been losing weight steadily (somewhat) since August. I went from 20% body fat to, now, about 12.5%. I did this the old-fashioned, calorie deficit way: 500 calories fewer a day = 1 pound of fat loss a week. Anyway, long story short, I'm slimmer than I've been since probably high school, and I'm in my late…
