Any tips on not living your life waiting for the next weigh in? I find myself wishing it was Monday again so I can see my results! Is this normal behaviour?

Iv been using mfp for just coming up to three weeks now. I measure and weigh all my food and I log all my exercises. I am eating on average 1200 calories a day for weight loss and on the days I exercise I eat 1300-1350 maybe as a Max. But my question is am I doing it right? Iv put on alot of weight over the last year and a half, I cant put it down to any one thing, but its all added up very quickly.
