Anyone else doing this completely alone?
I am recently divorced, live alone, and none of my friends are currently in any kind of weight loss program. I sometimes share my successes with them, but don't want to bore them with details. I am really grateful for this discussion board because I get great feedback and support. So...thank you!!

Another half a pound!!!
I'm not losing as quickly as I'd like, but I've now lost 4.5 pounds in the 3 weeks I've been living more healthy! I'm ok with that because the changes I've made in my diet and the exercise I'm doing (mainly swimming) is something i can maintain. So losing slowly is ok. If I were starving myself and working out like crazy…

Not logging exercise....a good idea or not?
I don't input my exercise because it increases my calorie allotment for the day. I really want to stay with 1350 calories and figure if I exercise, it will just help in the end. If I worked out an hour or two a day, it would make sense, but since I exercise moderately (swim half an hour 3-4 times a week, walk my dog…

I can't find the nutrition "pie chart"??
Hi- isn't there a pie chart that shows you at the end of the day the amount of carbs/protein/fat you consumed by percentage? I cannot find it!

I've been fat and I've been thin
And I've realized that people DO treat you very differently. It's not a fair world because inside I am exactly the same person. I am 5ft 3inches, and currently weigh about 157 and am working to get back to my goal weight of 135 (I'm curvy, so for me that is a low enough weight!) 6 years ago I weighed 160 pounds- my…

Eating tip: no distractions!
For meals that I eat alone, I force myself to sit at the dinner table and really focus on enjoying the food. Since I work from home, I used to eat at my desk while working and I hardly realized I was eating. Now I chew slowly, drink lots of water and focus on the food....and the birds singing outside :-) It helps!

Anyone been to a "bootcamp" type retreat center?
I went to a "wellness" center in Malibu which was basically a bootcamp. 6 hours a day working out, all organic "good for you" food at 1500 calories a day, nutrition and cooking classes, meditation and no caffeine or alcohol. It was an amazing experience, but I'm having trouble continuing with everything I learned. Of…

Fake foods
I had some sessions with a nutritionist, and am working to cut fake foods- processed foods with things like hydrogenated oils, preservatives, artificial sweeteners- from my diet. I'm also as much as possible buying organic. Has anyone else been able to change their diet this way, and has it made you feel better? Is it…

2 weeks now!
HI all- I've been using this site for 2 weeks but this is the first time I've posted. I want to get healthier and part of that is losing 25 pounds or so. I went to a wellness center in Malibu two weeks ago that really jump started me! I not only lost 4 pounds there, but learned SO much about nutrition- I'm working on…
