Squat problems... darn hips
So I'm about to begin week 4 of stronglifts. I got up to 65 lbs on squats and I've just pulled them back to 60 lbs. I'm not sure that I shouldn't pull back further? My right knee caves in when I add weight to the bar. I've gone slowly, in front of mirrors, etc to try to figure it out. I've been reading a bunch and I think…

Started on Monday, now have more questions...
So I started this program on Monday. I had no problems with the squats or bench press (empty bar). Barbell rows were a little more tricky. I joined a gym on a military base so no lighter bars, lightest plate is a tiny 5 lb one, and I couldn't do the barbell row with 2 10 lb plates. I used one of the fixed weight barbells…

Starting next week and have a few worries/silly questions
So I am meeting with a trainer at my gym on Friday this week and Wednesday next week to go over the lifts and form. I'm looking forward to this (though I realize I'll still have to get over my anxiety when it comes time to actually do the workouts lol) I've enjoyed reading through this group but I'm seeing one thing over…

Front or back squat?
Does it matter for stronglifts? I spent an hour and a half with a trainer tonight going over form for squats. We started with low bar back squats. I struggled to keep my elbows back. After that we tried high bar back squats. This went a little better but still not quite right. She got this look in her eyes and brought me…

Does the type of exercise matter?
When exercising, and when new to it/restarting, is there one way that works better than another? I'm 5'3", about 174lbs, and quite out of shape. I'm wondering if I'm better to do a video (think 21 day fix/30 day shred type deal) or am I better to use my dumbbells/kettle bells and the zillion little cheat sheet workouts…

Terrified of the gym
I used to go to the gym regularly (about 6/7 yes ago) I felt great, looked pretty darn good, and never had a 2nd thought. I had an incident at work where I was seriously assaulted a few years ago and everything seemed to go downhill. Add years of counselling, a depression and anxiety diagnosis, PTSD, 40 lbs, and I am now…

Bride to be, starting again...
Hey everyone. I'm beginning this journey again but feeling the pressure because of my upcoming Aug 2016 wedding. I've always been a little heavier and leading a crappy, lazy lifestyle on top of having 5 children in 9 yrs didn't help. A few years back I started making some changes and got down to my lowest adult weight, at…
