question about cardio vs weights
I'm wondering, if you are doing a lot of cardio, is that enough to build up the muscles in your legs, or do you need to be doing weight-bearing leg workouts on top of that? I'm doing upper body and core weight-bearing exercises, but I'm doing a lot of treadmill or elliptical as well. I'm not trying to get bodybuilder…

The Hay's diet, or food combining
Can anybody give me any information on this? I've heard of it and am thinking of putting my son on it. He has eosinophilic esophagitus and has suffered from severe stomach pains for the past six months. The doctors can not determine why, because his stomach looks perfectly normal after two scopes--the damage is in the…

I have been trying to lose 5 pounds for several months now, with no success. I am eating within my calorie goals (1380) and I work out with a trainer twice a week and 4-5…

cardio vs weightlifting
I'm wondering about this because I've read quite a few posts in various forums here that say something along the lines of "Don't waste your time doing cardio--lift weights instead!" Why is that? What's wrong with doing cardio? I thought that any exercise that gets your heart rate up and gets you moving was good. I know…

Okay, they're stretchy and they fit quite snugly, But they FIT! Ba-doing, ba-doing, ba-doing (that is me bouncing off the walls, in case you're…

acronyms
Question: Is there a list somewhere of all the popular acronyms used on the site? I keep reading about TDEE or BMR or other such things, and I don't know what any of them actually mean.
