check my maths please?
I've been over this and tied myself in knots. On a non-workout day, I want to net 1200 for just under a 500 cal deficit. BMR about 1350, TDEE based on sedentary multiplier plus FitBit adjustment is about 1650. On a workout day I burn a further 500 call, and want to net 1500 to minimise muscle loss (I do 40 mins free…

NSV - 2k in <13 mins
So, when I started back in the gym last month I couldn't run above 8.5kph for any sustained amount of time. Last night I ran 2k at 9.5kph *after* 5k on the bike and a core workout, and I followed the run with lower and upper body weights. Progress indeed!

What's "heavy" in lifting?
Not in terms of weights, but in terms of effort, reps and how you feel at the end of a set? What on earth? Lost weight, gained inches?!
So this morning I have lost a couple of pounds - yay! However, I've also gained half an inch on each of waist, underbust and hips, and lost half an inch from my full bust. Any ideas what's going on, and more importantly how I get back to losing inches? After 4 weeks on 5:2 fasting I switched last week to 1200 cal net every…

Aerobic zone doesn't feel like a work-out
I associate "exercise" with being out of breath, sweaty, mildly uncomfortable and fatigued afterwards. My supposed aerobic zone heart rate doesn't do any of that. Am I doing it wrong?

Nutrition help please?

This also requires me to develop some serious core and upper body strength. My secondary goal is to shrink my waist from 32 to 28 and my hips from 39 to 36. I've been…

Sprint tri, shrinking & gaining muscle: advice pls?
I'm currently doing the 5:2 diet to try to lose some of the 30lbs or so that would get me back to a smaller size. However, I'm not that bothered about my actual weight - I have a target set of body measurements instead (30-32 / 27-28 / 36 which is feasible based on past experience, currently 32.5/32/39). I also have a…
