I need to surround myself with a MasterMind team!
Hi, Everyone: I just got through whittling down my MFP friends list. It may sound harsh, but I want to surround myself with people who log in every day, or at least frequently. Once one of my MFP "friends" hasn't checked in for 7 days or more, I delete them. I like to keep my list manageable and keep spots open for people…

NON FOOD REWARDS - NEED SOME IDEAS
Hi, Everyone: I would like to "reward" myself with every 10 pounds that I lose. For instance, for my first 10 lb loss (just occurred), I rewarded myself with a new heart rate monitor watch/chest strap. But, as I look at the following, I come up empty. I am not a big "wanter." How are some ways that you reward yourselves.…

Circuit Training and HRMs
Quick question. I used my new Polar FT7 HRM tonight at the gym. I lifted weights via Nautilus circuit. The HRM said I burned 138 calories for a 41 minute workout. Does this seem correct? From the way I was sweating, Iwould have thought it would have been higher. Help? Thanks! Dee

Gym Elliptical Calories Burned or HRM Calories Burned?
I have a question. Please forgive me if it's been answered elsewhere, but i can't find it. I am on Day 2 of having my new Polar FT7 HRM Watch and chest strap! Love it. But, i am a bit confused. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical at the gym. I set my weight, age, into the elliptical's monitor. My heart rate was the SAME on…

Sedentary/eat calories? Or, pick active no eat exer cals?
I have read all the newbie links. When I joined in April, I set my MFP activity level to Sedentary (I have a desk job) and have been eating back my exercise calories. If I were to set my MFP activity level to "Moderately Active" do I just eat the calories they recommend? Or do I some sort of math? Thanks for the help. I am…

Chili humor from down home...
A Texas Chili Contest For those of you who have lived in Texas, you know how true this is. They actually have a Chili Cook-off about the time Halloween comes around. It takes up a major portion of a parking lot at the San Antonio City park. The notes are from an inexperienced Chili taster named Frank, who was visiting from…

My Before Pic - 225 lbs. YUCCCCKKKK!
Although I am mortified by this "before" picture in a bikini (never worn OUTSIDE), this is my starting picture at 225 lbs. I have been on MFP since 4/15 and have lost 8 lbs so far. My ultimate goal is to rid myself of 75 hideous pounds. I am sorry for the blurriness of this picture, but due to lighting, my cell phone…

!
 I am curious. A couple of years ago, I lost 50 lbs. Most of my clothes were very loose. I decided to go to year-end sales and replace my entire wardrobe (less than $1,000). At that polnt, I got rid of all my "BIG(ger)" clothes -- donated them. I had gone down about 2 sizes. As I lose additional weight, I am saying…

HELP: Ladies who own Polar FT7 HRM Watch and Chest Strap
I am getting ready to purchase (hopefully TODAY) a Polar FT7 HRM Watch and Chest Strap. They are on sale. However, the color I want (black) only comes in Men's Black at this ridiculously low price. Right now, I can use a Men's watch because I usually wear an 8" bracelet, and I am 218 lbs. My only worry about buying the…

2 QUESTIONS RE: POLAR FT4 HRM WATCH WITH CHEST STRAP
I am going to purchase the Polar FT4 HRM watch with chest strap as my first exercise monitoring tool. I have been using the Runtastic app on my Droid Phone and the phone only tracks the duration of the elliptical workout -- not calories burned. I am really interested in ACCURATE calorie burning while at the gym. That is…

FitBit? Electronic Tracking Devices
Hi, Folks: I have been considering buying an electronic tracking device to gauge calories burned that will sync with MFP, such as FitBit. My question is as follows: 1. Who out there uses this kind of device? 2. Do you like it? 3. Do you wish you purchased a different tracker? If so, which one? Of course, reading up on…

MFP'S EXERCISE VALUES A BIT HIGH
Has anyone found that MFP's exercise values are a little high? For instance, when I enter "elliptical trainer" and MFP gives me the calories burned, it is higher than what the elliptical display at the gym is showing. I am using the lesser number for calories burned just to be safe. Has anyone else noticed this? Dee…

Hi, I'm new! Need some MFP friends for motivation.
Hi, many name is Dee. I am 48 years old and live in Rhode Island. I am pretty good at counting calories and losing weight; however, over the past few years I sort of let myself go. My husband is Italian and loves his pasta...we got married 3 years ago and I seemed to have jumped on board and joined him in "bulk eating."…
