Lifting NSV
So, I've been lifting for a while (though not as regularly as I was, I'm trying to fix that), but haven't seen weight drop very much. I know that's mostly due to the irregularity of my workouts and the fact that I'm really not eating like I should be. Nonetheless, I have seen improvements in how my clothes fit and how I…

Hi. I'm a Pepsi-holic.
I love Pepsi. On ice. Not Diet, or other low/no cal version. I'm talking fully-caffeinated, high fructose corn syrup-loaded, Pepsi. Coke will work in a pinch. I especially love it during hot weather (and it's been well into the 90s and 100s here lately). However, I managed to only have a Pepsi twice last week--one on…

I've plateaued, and it's all MY OWN FAULT!
It's as simple as that. I"ve been pretty consistent with my exercise (at least the strength training part--a little lax with the cardio). I feel stronger and pretty good in general. But I have simply been putting too much stuff in my mouth. Too much sugar, sodium, and fat, not enough protein. Too little "clean" stuff, too…

Started NROLFW today!!
It really felt good to do something different. I can tell that I'm going to be sore tomorrow, but in a good way of course!

NSV at work
So last week I was talking to someone (while actually wearing my name tag for once :blushing: ) and they stopped mid-sentence and said "You don't look anything like your picture." I looked at it and sure enough the weight loss is obvious! Between that and the crappy pic in general it really doesn't look like me!…

Surprising things I've found I like...
...about this "lifestyle change." Primarily things that before I really got into exercising, I thought "what weirdos" or "ewww." 1. Getting up early in the mornings to work out. I am NOT a morning person, but I've discovered getting up and going earlier (especially on days I work) seems to set a routine and get me mentally…

HR/Calorie burn question
Yes, yes I know--I need to get an HRM (preferrably a continuous-monitoring model). However, the budget is already tight and other, more critical things are ahead of the HRM in line (such as we had to replace carpet in basement due to minor flooding, and still have to replace the roof). As such, I have been intermittently…

I'm going to count this as an NSV
So, last Thursday we discovered that our basement flooded. Thankfully no furniture or electronics were damaged, but we had a large amount of soaking wet carpet and underpad (the room is roughly 33 feet x 22 feet, and at least 2/3 of that was soaked). My husband and I were up til 2am moving out furniture and pulling back…

No longer having ANY enthusiasm for this
I've been watching my diet and exercising in spurts over the past year or so, and overall have had some success. I pretty much stopped logging or tracking anything over the winter, but actually didn't gain much back (suprisingly). Hubby and I started back exercising etc a couple of months ago, and I did OK for a few weeks…
