Why does the doctor not want you to run? That's the bigger question. If it's because there's an injury or illness (physical or mental) that it may aggravate then yes, it's too much.1 -

No you don't. Count your calories. After a reasonable period of time (4-8 weeks depending on the person) you evaluate your results and either keep eating the same number of calories, eat more calorie…5 -
