T2Ds - Anxiety & high BG, and a simple fix

Dr. Bernstein on performance-related anxiety and the spike in BG it produces.
Since the effects are caused by a surge of epinephrine, he figured a drug that blocks the effects of epinephrine might be effective in maintaining low BG.
Bingo! He recommends treating preventitively with propranolol (Inderal), a beta-blocker that performers have used for years. Apparently, it works on BG as well as dry mouth and tachycardia.

Yoga or meditation for T2Ds? I wonder how much that would help.
I love Dr B. I'm watching this later. Thanks.0 -

Seems like it couldn't hurt, though you can't necessarily do yoga right before you sing the national anthem at a big event......
He's great, eh? But it's hard work keeping up with that high-energy octogenarian!0 -
I wonder if that is the only beta blocker that works for that functionality... I don't tend to get BG spikes, even when eating like an idiot. Fasting BG and A1c haven't generally been problematic for me to date, as I am one of the lucky ones whose body has protected me from the worst of glucose related metabolic issues by just making me morbidly obese... I don't say that tongue in cheek, either, @RalfLott - I do know how much my obesity has protected my from more...shall we say "system failures" than some folks...
I find all this interesting, but I'm just kind of tapped out in the research and exploration arena for the time being... I'm trying to find my faith in what works for me still. I know carbs must be restricted for my long term health, but I'm trying to find the truth in the details for how much, which types, and the rest of the puzzle...3
