Welcome to the August LC Basics Bootcamp!
At the request of the Challenge members, and since no one else has mentioned anything else , here we go again!

One key thing that I have learned in my journey is this:
Consistency + Persistence + Time = Success

Consistently nailing the basics is so important. And consistency creates good habits, routines, and gives you momentum that will carry you through hard times or disruptions to your normal schedule. Forget motivation. Motivation is a fickle thing. Discipline carries you through when motivation fails you.

So what are the basics?
Well, hitting your carb goal, obviously, right? There are other very important other basics. Staying hydrated, keeping electrolytes up, logging consistently (if you're a logger), exercise (if that's one of your goals), hitting your macros, staying away from trigger foods and other things you know set you back...

You can report your progress to your goal, whether it be ultra-obsessive daily hitting your low-carb plan basics, or working on a fitness goal, or even nailing down other good habits in your life. And if you have problems or need advice, you'll find that here.

Each week there will be a thread to collect your progress that week and to interact with other challengers.
I'll keep links to the weekly threads at the bottom of the stickied post should the thread get buried. 2 clicks, to this post and the Weekly link, will get you back to it.

So go ahead and post your goals in this Thread.
My daily post would look something like this.
SW: 159.6
CW: 159.6

Wed 8/1:
Logged: :+1:
Water: :+1:
Electrolytes: :+1:
Calorie Goal: :+1:
Carb Goal: :+1:
Exercise: HIIT :+1:
Prelogged next day: :+1:
No booze!: :+1:
8/8

But this is your show. So focus on your basics.

Make this month count! Tear it up!:+1:

Last partial week!

Also, do we want another basics challenge or a Step-It-Up September, where we pick a goal or 2 we've been slacking on and do what I call a "sprint" which is focusing hardcore for 30 days?

I'll put this to the group as a whole.
Ideas?

Anyway. Own these last couple days.

Step it up September sounds great.
    No comment on august. Sigh.

May just move into September early.
    Stepping up consistency.
Stepping up food as fuel. Period.

    Last day of august. Hooray!

    September Goals:

    1) Join a gym...probably planet fitness since it's cheap. 30-60 minutes of varying daily activity.
    2) lose 10 pounds from tomorrow's weigh in weight. By hook or by crook.
    3) finish 30 day plank challenge. Then reassess next plank challenge.

    So stats will be
    1) # of minutes/name of activity
    2) # of pounds/ounces lost toward total 10
    3) plank name, # of seconds.

I didn't lose much weight for a large person; however, I checked in every day of the challenge and feel good about doing so, even when somewhat disheartened.

@option3girl Thank you. :) I started LCHF at the beginning of the August challenge. My first goal was to greatly reduce my sugar intake, so that worked.

I'm sorry it's frustrating. I'm hoping your body will stop being a punk soon and start showing more losses. Remember, sometimes the body is busy healing before it finally starts reflecting all those changes. And it often refills fat cells with water before it finally decides it's ok to dump it. Water is heavy. Meanwhile, while you wait (I KNOW it's agonizing) you are cementing great habits into routine, which will provide momentum and ease later on. Delayed gratification isn't fun, but keep at it. A loss is a loss. You'll get there! Keep checking NSVs, like feeling much better, your health is improving, losing inches or clothes fitting better, more energy, and etc.

I hope you all join the September challenge. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10451830/step-it-up-september-week-1-9-1-9-7/p1?new=1
If you want to keep doing what you were doing this month, it's fine with me. I'm just trying to provide a place where we can have accountability and support. I needed to give it a name, and a couple members expressed how they were going to try to increase steps or exercise. It fit. And sometimes it's good to shake things up. But BASICS are always important. Staying rooted in those is what has kept me 92lb down (or 94 of the scale is deciding to play nice.) Whatever you guys need to do.
