I've been in this terrible cycle of using MFP, losing weight quickly, feeling like I don't actually need MFP, and then I stop tracking and gain all the weight back plus some. Trying to actually stick with it this time. I was traveling a lot for a few Thanksgivings in November, but December should actually be easy for me. Just moved to the other side of the country, and I'm also Jewish, so no Christmas events to avoid. Except 2 office holiday parties this week. Trying to keep those in check.

After I graduated from grad school, I got caught up in my new career and essentially stopped making time to go to the gym and work out. I loved working out and always used it as an escape from work and school and any other struggles (best weight was 153 lb). I realized I needed to get back on track once my favorite jeans wouldn't fit right anymore. This is my first group I'm joining, and I'm excited to have some motivation to push me through!

Christ on a bike, I have some serious water weight from the work trip. I was good over the weekend, but I had more alcohol and salty food than normal on my work trip. Mind you, when in Belgium it would be rude not to have some local beer. It'll drop off again.

This week went great. I kept to my allowed 1200-1300 kcal and worked out every single day for 30 minutes like I planned. I've had no struggles. The reason for the gain is water retention from both muscle soreness and TOM. I expect it to drop later on.3 -

I had a few meals out this week, plus my period arrived, so the scale went up 3 pounds overnight! My trend weight (posted above) shows I'm on track though, and I've even weighed lower than my goal 3 times this week, so hooray!1 -

Hey y’all! Happy to have found this group and hopefully it’s a good fit for me. I’ve always been somewhat active but gained 20-30lbs in residency due to working insane hours and stress. Now I’m out of prison (i mean residency) and have a more normal life and trying to get my body and health back! I’m also getting married 4/21/18 so that’s been another huge motivator recently.

Been totally *kitten* the bed the last couple weeks and it has nothing to do with the holidays. I took on too much in life and had a mini burnout. It’s nothing I can’t bounce back from and I’m already mentally over it, but I’m seeing that after a week or so of light binging, it’s hard to go back to controlled eating.
It’s not the weight that’s bothering me really. I mean it’s only 1 pound up and most of that is water weight. What’s getting to me is how I feel. I don’t realize how great I feel when I eat well until I take a break from it and see how awful I feel when I eat poorly. I am happy that even when things go bad, I’m still somewhat committed to MFP though. It helps me know how to pull up from these little lapses. This is life and I completely understand that I will have better weeks and worse weeks forever, but at least I have the tools to get right back on it and not feel lost at how to get back on the horse.
I’m beginning to really realize that no matter what is happening in my life, my food intake should always be my number 1 priority, above everything else. When I eat well I sleep well, my energy is up, my sex drive is up, and I just feel like I can deal with everything. When I eat poorly though, all of that goes out the window and it spirals out of control. It’s crazy how easy it is for one small thing to snowball into something huge if you don’t actively stop it.
So I’m actively stopping it. All the big commitments I took on in life and work finished this week so I have some space to breathe and make a plan for success. I’m really looking forward to it actually. I’m so over feeling like crap.
