Okay...this is what I did today...45 minutes at the gym w/daughter this morning...then 80 minutes walking w/DH and Bean (our grandpuppy)...then 72 minutes walking 5 miles w/just me...then 60 minutes on MFP challenges...and yes...I did two sets of 20 burpees :o ...then jogging around the house for half an hour for needed steps. I am pooped!!

My weight is up and I'm very unhappy about that, so I must do something about it. Cupboards are now clean and freezer is clear of triggers. I only have nine weeks until my daughter's wedding.

    Have a great Sunday, everyone.

Reached out and now have a few MFP friends including a few from my outside world. Logged every day for past 6 and have been active every day. Took before pics for the first time ever. Not feeling too guilty about the time I am taking to take care of myself. Put together a few things to wear at guy that. Don't make me feel self conscious. Have my gym bag and running shoes always ready to go! Made plans for three early snowboarding trips before work starts. Feeling optimistic for first time in what feels like years!

    Wow! Great too hear these.

Chris, busy-busy! Congrats on the wedding. And you will do it!

Surf, your doing great! Putting yourself first is hard. But you need to do that.

Peace, your just great! And sleep is very important.

I too have reached out and made new friends. I sure hope that helps. I'm up almost 20 pounds since spring! Lots of stress and changes in my life.

BUT. This is my day #3. After 2 days of tracking and drinking lots of water. I feel great! Even did chores for my friend that's out of town. Cleaning barn at 5am is a great way to get going! And it was only 29 out this am in Michigan.

Have a great and heathy day everyone.

Peacehawk...you work midnights...I'm so sorry. I get up at 3:30 to be out of the house by 5:00 so I miss the horrid commute on Hwy 4. Ugh! No way I want to be caught in that mess.

Today...85 minutes walking with DH and Bean...75 minutes walking with my daughter...45 minutes on challenges. I have 25,000 steps and 11.8 miles. I shopped and made soup for this week's lunches. My food this weekend has been really good.

I won't get this much done during the week but I will not slack off. I'll get 10,000 steps, go to the gym three times, walk three times and get my challenges done on the three days I walk. I'll have one REST DAY!!!! That's my plan for the next nine weeks.

Hope you all have a great Monday.

Great job CPA! How do you decide how many steps to shoot for? Do you add those cLories as exercise or do you put your lifestyle as active or both?

    Thanks, Surfingbodi!

I don't know where it came from but the 'authorities on the subject' suggest you aim for 10,000 steps a day. I have a Fitbit that counts my steps and tracks my miles. It goes everywhere with me! It uploads exercise calories to MFP, so if I go out for an hour walk, I'll enter the time I start my walk on the MFP exercise app and Fitbit won't post the calories for that hour. I don't eat back all my exercise calories because I think they are over-estimated. My daughter and I have a trainer at the gym, and she's given us a calorie range to stay within so that's what I try to follow.

Good job Chris. I ate at Olive Garden today. The low cal soup and an entree off the light menu. NO bread stir or wine!

    Thanks, everyone!

Mary - I love Olive Garden! I order the bread sticks without butter/oil. They make them fresh for me. I only have one and bring the rest home to my DH.

Off to walk w/DD for an hour or so.

This has ben a good week for me. Finally. Weigh in in the morning. I guess it's ben a rough summer. I've looked back on my weighs. I've went up almost 20 lbs since April. But I'm headed in the right direction now

All we can do is move forward. It's great that you are doing that. Even baby steps eventually get us where we are going.

At work, I carry a cop radio. they are kind of heavyish, not like a kids walkie talkie. well, last night I clipped mine on my waist and started walking, just walking up and down the halls for a few minutes of extra excercise (trying to make up for yesterdays overage in calories). I had to stop and tighten my belt because I could feel my pants sliding down!

Got the gym done in 45 mins. Walked with Bean for 4.5 miles in 65 minutes. Walked with DH and Bean for 35 more minutes, and Bean let us know he was done for the day!!

    Eating is A-OK!

I hope everyone is doing excellent!

Great job peace hawk with the pants!
    Very productive day Chris.
I kicked butt yesterday with exercise and was sore today so took Epsom salt bath and got some work done. Was hard not to go exercise but really pushed it this week for not being in great shape. Still on calorie goal for day and hoping to start lifting (5x5) tomorrow!

    Here was my day:
    10/26/14
    Bench 65
    Dead lift 105
    Barbell row 60
    Squat 85
    Overhead press 45

Form is off a bit as I pinched something but nothing major. So proud that at least I tried! Will work on form throughout week.

Surfingbodi you're doing a heck of a job!! I'm so impressed! Keep it up!

Walked w/DD then w/DH. I have 18,874 steps for 8.64 miles so far. That might just be it for today. I went shopping then made soup and salad for my lunch this week. I have the gym tomorrow w/DD and our trainer. Eight weeks to the wedding!

Walked with my daughter this evening. It was beautiful out. We didn't workout at the gym...our trainer was sick.

My eating is on track and my weight is down! I'm good.

did my 10k event yesterday, blew out a calf muscle on an uphill section, walked 2 kilometres but managed to finish and my time wasn't too bad. I was able to run/limp for the last 3k. But the best and most important part was that for the first time I consciously and actively decided to work through it with positive self talk and determination inspite of the fact that I was angry and disappointed. Of course I'm limping today, but I don't care. I was able to find the right attitude when it was needed.

good for you WWnot! that is the bomb! positive self-talk and sticking with something you have committed to do and WANT to do. i have run some road races and my times were not great but I still look back on them with such pride and joy that I can do something healthy that I commit to.

I went to Las Vegas for a conference last week and managed to maintain my weight! I was so worried going into it because I knew I would be challenged with lots of tempting food and drink options. Walked a ton, logged everything, and made it!

Thanks for giving me a spot to brag.
