Happy Saturday Folks.
Got the written copy of my blood work in the mail from the Va this week. Testosterone test hadn't come back yet when this was sent but DHEA was very good and SHBG was well within Normal range and towards the bottom end so no worries. Hba1c was at 6.0 so a little high but not high enough for Doc to give me low dose metformin. Have to work on that another way. May try supp's like Keto Force, and Keifer's new Carb Shock. To continue with the N=1.
On the back pain front gonna work some heat therapy this week and see how that goes. 20 min in the AM with heat pad. and liberal application of Ben Gay before bed. Thanks Heron for the well wishes.
Stacy Hope the craft fair went well.
Hope all is well with all of you. Keep on Jamin'

Beautiful fall weekend here! We have been going on long drives in the country and taking pictures. Diet has been horrible this past week and I put on 4lbs. I have to get back in gear.0

The Carb Shock is meant for post work out nutrition and to be taken with a good amount protein, usually a protein powder like WPI. The key is to not ingest any food for an hour after the end of your workout (cardio doesn't count, we're talking strength training here). Then once it's been an hour you take your shake with Carb Shock. Good luck!0

Happy Monday Folks!
Arturo I listened to the webinar as well. Understand the application. Especially for morning workouts since afternoon ones are just not doable for me. Will have to modify my coffee intake a bit, But but otherwise fits right in with what I do already. PM meal timing will have to adjust as well but not a big problem. Congrats on your progress with CNS. Looks like its working well for you and Heron.
Keep on Jammin Folks!

Hey folks. It's been a while since I've posted.
Last week, I decided to start my daily lunch walks back up. It' roughly 1 mile. I also decided to really simplify my food. I feel like I get too extravagant, then lose the real meaning of what I'm trying to do. I've basically set to pan sear a whole bunch of chicken breast and and eat that with a salad. Then, once that runs out, I'll do the same with a whole bunch of tilapia filets. I'm not one to get tired of food, so it should work out pretty well, assuming my wife doesn't get tired of it.0 -
I'd also like to ask that everyone head over to the "Healthy Recipes" thread and leave their favorite recipe.0

Happy Tuesday Folks. Hope all is well with all of you.
TJ yep I pretty much do that out of necessity. Hard to find packaging for single servings so cook stuff up and fridge it up for the week. 4 cup pyrex containers are my way of portion control.

Hammer, I love those bowls. I use the 4 cup for my salad, and the small rectangle for my meat. I find the Walmart set has the perfect variety for everyday use. It's a little less product for the price compared to the ones offered at Sam's and Target, but those came with those tiny useless bowls that I knew would clutter the cabinet.0

TJ: Good for you for walking during lunch. Keep it up.
I use glasslock containers. They come in squares, rectangles, rounds and has a plastic lid with rubber ring and snaps to get a good seal that helps to Keeps food fresh longer. They have perfect single serving size containers. When Arturo used to commute to work I would pack a bunch of single serving lunches for him to take. I actually use the little ones too they are great when you make a sauce/gravy. I would freeze what we didn't finish in those small glasslock they are a perfect size for 2 servings.
I lost my routine and am trying to get into a new rhythm. Sigh.
Happy things -fall garden is coming along great!, my older dog, Kira's biopsy came back negative for cancer and Rosie's eye surgery went smoothly.0 -
Got the last of my blood tests back yesterday, Testosterone is in very good range and free testosterone is is above norm for my age. So diet and exercise is paying off.
Got our first adaptive sports clinic approved and moving forward on it for 3 Nov, main demo will be on Boccia. We have the US governing body for the sport, Blaze Sports America coming to do demonstrations. I did the press release for it and got it forwarded to public affairs so we'll see how it goes. I also got the test link yesterday for my CDSS Certification so gonna take the time to get that done this weekend.
Great news for Kira and Rosie! What are you planting Heron?
Have a Happy and great TBT everybody.0 -
Good to see you back TJ! Heronh, I am glad to hear your pets are doing well. Are fall gardening consist of leave cleanup and getting ready for snow. :-) John I am glad your test came back good.
I am surprised Carol has not been on here. She emailed me about finding the group after they changed things around. She was also hoping to get in on our hangout on the 2nd.
Things are going much better for me the last few days eating wise. I had few bad weekends which have resulted in a slight gain but back on track and getting ready to make good choices through the holiday season. I had hoped to be at my goal by Jan 1st but that is not going to happen so now my new target date will be by my birthday June 2nd. That should be vary doable.

Thanks Howie.
Have you guys thought about putting out your hangouts? I know Carol mentioned that you guys were doing one, and it may be kinda cool to hear what every day people are doing. Since Carol is having to cut back lately, it would definitely make for more content, too.0 -
I'm not opposed to to it but have not thought about it.

Good Morning!
Howie, Good o on goal adjustment. No military plan ever survives first contact with the enemy intact. Same here, if Fat is the enemy it will adjust and defend even more vigorously as the fight goes on. The toughest fight is still ahead lad. Adjust fires and keep the troops moving..
Happy Funday Friday! Folks.0 -
Down one pound this week after a 4 lb gain the two weeks before.0
