i do ride a bike. usually commute to work that way or make the best effort i can to do it if it's at all possible logistically. when i'm working, that is.

why: i've been riding a lot longer than i've been doing sl. i think i started being a real bike commuter around the same time as hurricane katrina, so that's a while back. but really, it's so much tied up with the fact that it's my transportation choice, and i think you're asking more about things that are just direct exercise.

that kind of stuff i don't do ;-) like, you'll never in this life see me going out for 'a run' and even my bike is something i never ever take out just 'for a ride'. i need destinations, or i don't see the point.

lifting is a little different from that general rule because um er. because REASONS, that's why :D can't really figure out why, but i guess because weight lifting IS a thing in itself. for some reason i don't mind it being so formalized, whereas spending the same amount of time at the gym but just for the purpose of treadmill or spinning would drive me insane.

    I'm a runner.
Because I never thought I could do it and one day, I just did. Because it's my therapy - I can clear my head and feel better after a run.

I'll go to the gym and ride a bike or use the arc trainer if my ankle hurts too much to run or if I want to read my book and get my sweat on.

I've also recently started trying rock climbing. Because I'm afraid of heights and this is my way of getting over it. It was also my way of making new friends. But due my schedule conflicts, my ankle, and my race being on Sunday, I haven't climbed in a bit.
