Lighting?

Especially with the shorter days it's harder to get out there during the day. Any recommendations on knuckle lights and/or head lamp? I already make sure to use reflective gear and have some flashing stuff so I'm seen but it would be nice to see where I'm going as well. :) Tia!

I've recently appropriated my husband's headlamp. I used to run with a bright blinking bicycle taillight (I carried it in my hand) but found that it weighed enough to cause my arm to cramp up on medium-long runs. I love the headlamp, though - it is very lightweight, surprisingly effective at lighting the ground in front of me, and it doesn't slide on my head.

We have a Petzl Tikka plus. Ours takes AA batteries, but it looks like newer models are USB-chargeable!

are you running on the road, or on the trail? I have a Petzl Nao and it's pretty fantastic. usb charge and programmable. Probably ridiculous for road running tho. I have a nice princeton tech headlamp I use in other situations. :D it uses batteries, and is pretty affordable.

I use this. Use it for short night road runs and all night trail runs. No problems. It's not as bright as a petzl, but I do fine with it. http://www.rayovac.com/Products/Lights/Work/Virtually-Indestructible-LED-3AAA-Headlight.aspx

Thanks I will check those out! Just road running right now. I think I would be too scared to do trail running in the dark! :)

Knuckle lights are usually all I need for road running, I go with the headlight/knuck light combo for trails. For headlights Black Diamond and Petzel are both good brands.
