Making your own protein shake

My VSG is scheduled for the 12th. I am now on the 2 week pre-op diet which is not bad, we have allot of choices. I wanted to make my own protein shake so today I bought isopure powder strawberries and cream and mixed one scoop with 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk. My question is, after surgery and once cleared to drink the shakes, I will need to let the shake sit after blending as advised by the nutritionist to eliminate the air bubbles ..about how long does it take and how do you know, just by visual...today I could definitely taste the air since I drank it right after I blended it...any feedback and or experience is appreciated..

No idea! I've never heard of having to let it sit after you blend it to reduce the air bubbles. Maybe don't blend it in the first place - use a shaker bottle? Interesting!

Letting the shake sit was communicated in one of the classes. To avoid drinking in unnecessary air..I'll try shaking as opposed to blending to see if it has less or no air bubbles...and to see if it will clump..I'm just trying different methods, ideas and product prior to surgery to be prepared

I haven't heard of that either but what comes to mind for me is what my mother taught me to do with cake batter to get the air bubbles out. Once we poured the batter into the cake pan we "gently" dropped the pan onto the counter several times, not hard enough to splatter the batter, just hard enought to force the air bubbles to the top. You could do the same thing with your protein shake.
