Javelina Jundred, my first 100 mile race

After doing many ultras over the last several years I finally felt ready to tackle the 100 mile distance. And I did it, the Javelina Jundred on November 1st in Arizona. My time goal was to finish sub-28 hours and I did it in 27:09. There were 511 starters and 288 finishers for a finish rate of 56%.
I could barely move after the race on Sunday but now I feel great. The only thing physically that reminds me of what I did is some residual tenderness in my feet. Other than that I'm golden.
My training leading up to Javelina.
The race report itself.
The interview I did with the Running Stupid podcast.

Thanks, all, for taking the time to read and/or listen. Ultra marathons come up in this forum with some frequency and that's one of the reasons I wanted to share it. And if I can impart any words of advice it's to be thoughtful about your training. You only get one first-time, make it count.0

Amazing! What an accomplishment. I know 3 or 4 people from here in Florida that were there and got their first 100 mile buckles too. Congrats again!0
