Okay, I'm bored out of my mind (waiting for a water truck) so I thought I'd check in to see what everyone did on their long weekend?

How many of you crazies partied your butts off this weekend, huh?

    Mine:

Friday: Drinks with some fellow biologists. I asked this guy where a good "happy hour" place was.. he told me... we all met there. Blue hairs were everywhere! I mean this is Palm Springs so there are old people running around, but this place was packed. It was hilarious. I felt like an honorary member of the geriatric ward! Was fun seeing some of the quieter bios get drunk... LOL

Saturday: Lots of work prep for Sunday and then my date I'd been waiting months to go on. Everything went well, as far as I can tell, and think I'll see him again in the near future. Went to sushi and then just sat and talked... nice guy... super cute.... very fun. Definitely worth every month, week, day, hour, minute, second I had to wait.

Sunday: Did a 5 mile presence/absence survey for tortoise. Hiked to the top of this mountain and then had lunch with my sister. Came home and collapsed.

Monday: Chilled with my daughter all day long and saw Star Trek with her and a couple biologists. Movie was good... won't spoil anything...

    Perfect weekend....

Friday went with some friends to speed street and people watched. It was like people of walmart with alcohol.

Saturday went hiking in the morning on a new trail with some fun people. Why is it always the middle eastern guys that meet you and two seconds later ask "So where are your husband and kids?"
Saturday night went to a cookout. I made some awesome sangria and brownies. I knew 95% of the people there but my friend's boyfriend was grilling me about what kind of guys I liked and when I was talking to a guy I know, who is not my type at all, he kept getting on me about it. I swear him and his gf are always disappointed when I say I am not attracted to black guys.

Sunday played some pickup softball, got beaned in my knee by the softball so it is bruised. Went to a bar afterwards and talked and played some *kitten*. Was going to go to the white water center but ended up staying home icing my knee. Did feel good that I got a bunch of texts asking where I was.

Monday was supposed to go hiking but ended up staying home nursing the knee a little longer until going to my friend's for a Bacherlotte viewing party.

Friday: worked til noon then dove to Michigan to see my brother and his wife's family. I was staying with her dad. I hit Chicago at rush hour and the normally-six-hour drive took 10 hours. Said hi to everyone then went to bed.

Saturday: Played with my 2-yr-old nephew then we all went to my SIL's mom's place for breakfast. After breakfast, we went to her dad's place where he cooked out for lunch. There were probably 30 people there, including 10-15 kids between 1-week and 6 years old. Yikes!

Sunday: Went to the beach in Grand Haven with my girlfriend and my brother. Walked around the pier and beach for a few hours then met at SIL's mom's place for dinner and to hang out and watch my nephew and all of SIL's sibling's kids play.

Monday: Woke up early to beat the trafffic home. Made it home just in time. Huge storm with 70 mph winds and tornado warnings hit the area about 40 minutes later. I was stuck at the grocery store when it hit.

    Friday: Gym and work.

Saturday: More Gym and work. Had an extremely fit lady in her late 30's early 40's near me during kickboxing class. It's a popular class and time slot so it can be crowded at times. During the class the lady said to me: "Wow, you're really tall." Kinda made me feel slightly embarrassed. :blushing: Then she added. "And big too. I hope you don't squish me." :frown: I laughed it off and I tried to not let it bug me but it did. It kinda bummed me out in a way because I felt she was calling me fat in a underhanded way. My day got better though.

After the kickboxing class, I had my weekly weigh in for the weight loss challenge I am doing at my gym. 1 of my gym crushes that works for the gym did my weigh in and also checking my food diary. I got really self-conscious as she was looking over my MFP food diary. I'm not a clean eater. I occasionally eat crap. I got weighed in and I lost 7 lbs She was impressed and then saw I lost a little over 20 lbs since the challenge started a few weeks back. She smiled at me and said "Wow 20 lbs lost! You're doing great!" Wonder how she would have reacted if she knew how much I have lost in total? Anyways, I was no longer bummed about the "squish" comment from before.

Sunday: Work and walked a few miles

Monday: Work and then after work went to the drive-in with friends to see Star Trek and Iron Man. I fell asleep 1/2 through Star Trek and most of Iron Man. XD

I wouldnt take it as an insult as I love a fella that can squish me!!!! I think most women do! We like to feel small and protected and all feminine like. In fact, she was probably just trying to make herself feel small, rather than making you feel big

I have this thought process. This is why I can't date guys that are short or super thin. I'm broad and I need to feel petite. I don't feel petite around small guys. I'm sure she didn't mean it in a derogatory way. Next time ask her if she wants to find out if you can squish her.... :flowerforyou:

What did I do Friday...funny how the weekend seems like a blur becuase eveything was dwarfed by the fun I had Saturday.

Friday - I believe I went to see Fast Six...yeah I think that is correct.

Saturday - cleaned the house / washed the car / did some shopping - then the FUN began..went on a date with somone that made me Laugh and Smile a LOT. Dinner (some yummy raw fish), Drinks (quiet local bar), and some making out in a hotel room....

Sunday - Racquetball Won 3 games Lost 5 (could have been from the late night Saturday, but I'll take the Saturday Fun over winning racquetball on Sunday) After Racquetball I went to see Star Trek with my ex-step kids and enjoyed the movie a LOT.

Monday - Work BBQ and Cleaned my apartment

I took today off, so I technically had a four-day weekend.

Friday was spent at work "cleaning" a giant shipping container filled with tons of crap my department was willing to throw away, so I collected a good amount of it which I plan on selling in a yard sale and spending on my cruise in Greece. I also played bunco and lost my hard earned money to a 7 year old.

Saturday and Sunday were spent recuperating from an utterly exhausting week of 15 hour days and a day in that giant metal box in 90 degree, Houston weather.

Monday and Tuesday were spent with family at the movies and planning the cruise I'm taking with my mother. I may, however, strangle her before we even leave. Tonight I went to work for a couple of hours, did a fire drill, got free chick-fil-a, and won a ticket to Schlitterbahn. Over all, I think it was a success.

Well I never thought of it as flirting since I'm not used to flirting period so when she said that to me, in my mind I took it as a negative comment. Now that I think back on it, she was smiling as she said it. Thanks ladies.

When and Where: I met her 2 months ago through Match. Who: I'm not giving out a name or coming up with a silly nickname. What?: A 36-yr old non-imaginary human female.

She works in town and lives about 20 minutes away. She's lost about 80 pounds. She has an interest in running and has run/walked 4 half marathons. She has a goal to do a half marathon in all 50 states and has plans to knock 2 more states out by the end of the year.

Cool. For GA she should do the Rock N Roll Savanah one, it is a lot of fun. SC Myrtle Beach has a could of them (I am doing one there in October) and Charleston probably has some also.

She sounds great! I love dating men that are like-minded when it comes to fitness and eating healthy. Just makes life SOOO much easier.

Is she a memeber of the Half Fanatics? It's an off-shoot of the Marathon Maniacs! If not, have her look into it. It's a really, really fun group!

I LOLed at the "non-imaginary" part!

    Thanks for filling me in!

Can we come up with a nickname?? Haha
