Training between marathons

I just ran a marathon last Saturday, my fifth. I typically run only one per year, but there's another one coming up in 3 weeks I would like to do. What should my training plan look like with such a short period between events? Should I do another 20+ mile run this weekend?

I would think you'd be better off giving your body more of a chance to recover. I'd do something like 8, 12, 8 for long runs if I was in your situation.... but then again I've never done two marathons so close together. I doubt you'll lose any fitness in such a short time as long as you don't stop running all together for all three weeks.

There is no need for a 20 miler this weekend. Take it easy this week and then repeat the last couple weeks of your previous training plan.

I do this all the time. You don't really have to do anything, run however you want. Maybe the week before do some faster stuff for quick feet. My fav thing to do is to have back to back races, just b/c the recovery from one is sort of the taper for the next, so......

ha ha ha, it's pretty awesome.
