Contemplating Aero Bars, just after some personal experiences.
I'm currently riding 10 mile TT's at just over 20mph.
I also want to up the mileage on long rides.
Will this up my speed on TT's and will it hinder my long rides?
Cheers all

I had a pair of aero bars added when I was doing more triathlons. It was nice to get into an aero position on long flat courses. I never used them in group rides, did not feel comfortable in pace line. However, it was nice to have on longer rides by myself.
Don't know if I answered your question though.

So you have 2 different situations. For a 10 mile TT you'd be better served in your drops. They're more aero than clip ons. Now longer rides that's up to you. The thing about aero bars, even the shortys, is that in general it messes with your fit if you're not fit with the aero bars on the rig.

I would try the clip-ons for the TT, but (at least where I ride) aero bars are a definite NO NO in a paceline. Too sketchy.

Good numbers on your TT time also, well done!

Aeros for TT - every time.

    Normal rides? No, not really.
