Hi Ladies! I just finished the beginner program of Strong Curves, and I'm starting the advanced program on Tuesday. So, due to the fact that I suck at self control, I was only really in a deficit for probably 2 of the 12 weeks, the rest being in maintenance or a surplus. In that time I've (unintentionally) put on 4 or 5 lbs. I'm just curious, since I was doing the program..is there any change maybe *some* of that was muscle and not fat? (lol I can definitely tell some of it was fat..)

Here's me hoping it wasn't a total wash with my lack of controlled calories..

    Totally ALL muscle!

Most of the gain is probably water, a wee bit of muscle and a wee bit of fat. I'd be very surprised if you went 12 weeks, some of the time at surplus, without gaining any muscle.

Yayyyy I sure hope there's a little bit of muscle in there! over the past year I've gained about 10 pounds, ugh, but I still fit in the same pants I just look slightly bigger in them lol, I guess that may be kind of a good sign??

I agree--you could have gained 1-2 lbs of muscle during that time if you were truly in a surplus and lifting heavy.
