Been a slow 12 days, last week I lost 0.5lb. This week I was weighing more or the same til friday then I dropped 2lb in 2 days and I have NOT stopped PEEING for 2 days now. Wondering if theres a whoosh in the offing this week. 2.5lb would be lovely. Ive just bust 3 stone and 2.5 more lb would drop my BMI below 40

Hoping for a good whoosh for you. I always thought it was a myth but after watching my weight closely I think there is something to it. Hopefully it gets you to the lower bmi then you can officially say you are no longer morbidly obese!

Just be careful of weighing yourself every day and taking note of it, weight really does fluctuate from one day to the next, once a week is more accurate.

Yeah I know and I am used to the fluctuations so I dont get too worried if I can think Ok I did a big exercise sesh/ate too much sodium/due on and am retaining. It just keeps me honest. x

How odd...I've never really noticed a whoosh myself, but I don't track the trending too much... Here's to hoping you made progress further in the week (I'm busy playing catch up, oldest first. LOL)

It was a good 3lb whoosh but unfortunately Ive retained it all back by overeating. On the bright side should all whoosh back off again once I get chugging water and drop my cals tomo

I have to admit, I envy you that, somewhat. with my PCOS and other issues, it is so hard for me to budge anything most of the time. And since returning from time off work, I'm struggling so badly with my water consumption, and for no reason. It's so cold (this morning was 19 degrees, no idea with windchill factor) that I end up just aching about half the time anyway. I'm very moody, likely due to stress and letting myself down and I truly hate when I get like this, but I will figure it out sooner or later...

That must suck. Water is a huge weight loss factor forme. If i drink well i lose weight much faster and as soon as i drop my consumption and drink more soda as ive done this weekend i instantly retain.

Keep on trucking and keep on talking. I find most of my self discovery comes through talking to another person be it a friend or my counsellor. Im always here with an ear

Yes, having extreme difficulties losing any sort of weight and keeping it off is the makings of truly losing it to insanity sometimes. I have to say though that my endocrinologist putting me on a lower carb food plan helped some, though cost wise, I can't currently maintain it. Low carbs, high fat, moderate protein. His breakdown for me personally was 25% carbs, 35-55% fat, and the balance in protein which is 40%-25% respectively. He said do slightly less fat when wanting to lose weight, more fat when maintaining, but I shouldn't let fat below that 35% mark. Carbs can fluctuate a bit depending on what they are (bread versus fruit versus straight sugar crap), but I struggle so much with the protein because frankly, carbs are far cheaper than protein...LOL But I know this helps with my conditions, so I always try...

Water plays a far greater factor with me than I ever realized, too. Some days I do great. Most days I struggle. I don't understand it, aside for the annoyance of peeing like a pregnant woman...

And I'm with you, Lise. My best realizations and epiphanies arrive when I'm helping others... Thanks for "listening." :)

Carly, can you get to a Costco or BJ's in your area. Buying protein in bulk is cheaper.... if not Aldi grocery store has great deals also. I know eating healthy is costly.... I shop all the grocery stores in my area for the best deals. I make my list and hit the store when I'm passing it as to not make an extra trip.

I have a Walmart, a Homeland, and a privately owned smaller store called Spencer's. I do not have any "bulk" stores in my areas (I've never been overly near to a Costco, I've never heard of BJ's, and the nearest Aldi is 45 minutes away - not economical at all).

I do have a Save-A-Lot I forgot about, but their prices are similar to Walmart... The other two stores are higher priced. On occasion, I can get a decent price on 10 pounds of meat at Spencer's, but sometimes, even that is out of price range.

I base my entire grocery budget and meal plan around what proteins I can get on sale, on clearance, or in bulk...

Also search the internet for protein coupons. They help some.

What kind of coupons? Usually, I'm referring to meat, mostly, but I would love to get my hands on some protein powder or something...

We have Aldis here in UK too and they are AMAZING for food but not if you end up paying it back in petrol.

Carly, if you google the company say Tyson for example, sometimes there are coupon links. Just a thought. Takes some time....... but well worth the savings.

Hmm...I'll have to give that some thought. I've bought the generic of things for so long, I don't even know what brand names are "whole" foods anymore! LOL

This is my favorite site for coupon searching.

    http://www.afullcup.com/coupons/

You can select just printable and then it will find anything that matches your search. Saves quite a bit of time. If you have a store that doubles coupons I have found that I can get name brand for less than generic on a regular basis.

sry can't get it to work as a link.

Y'all also have tax included in the total price of the item, so what you see is what you pay. From town to town and county to county the tax rates here can wildly vary. Plus some states (like OK) have state income tax atop national income tax. I know that inflation is crazy dollars to pounds/quid, but wowza...at least y'all can get veg and some other things reasonably priced there!!!! Well, I know about Guildford, Surrey, anyway...

Food etc isnt too bad but a lot of stuff Ive ordered from the US in the past because even with shipping it comes in cheaper than buying here

Its quite handy. I buy so much off ebay because of being able to find something in my price range most of the time
