To flex or not?

I have the fitbit one and LOVE it -- Love that I can tuck it away and no one knows I am wearing it. I am not a bracelet person at all so I think the flex might not be for me.
The Charge HR has got me a little excited though as I use my polar HRM when I can/remember. A do it all bracelet might be the best thing for me.
Now I know the charge hr isn't out yet but the flex is on sale and my thinking is I can order one and give it a whirl -- if I don't like it I can take it back or sell it. I would rather spend $80 now then $150 later and not love it.
I have been reading on here that things like grocery shopping or any activity where your arm isn't swinging it doesn't count your steps -- It is cold and my hands are in my pocket a lot so no swinging! Will it therefore not be as accurate as my One.
would love to hear from people who were loyal One users that made the switch and what you found.
Could I wear both to compare??

I have the One and loved it too. I bought the new Charge a couple weeks ago mainly because I like new gadgets. Some days I like it better. Other days I don't and I go back to the One. I'm still undecided about which I like better.

I have 3 other HRMs that I use. (One general purpose, one for my stationary bike and one for my road bike.) I don't need another HRM. Having an easy, comfortable, all-day HRM would be nice for collecting data I don't necessarily need, but I have doubts about the accuracy of wrist mounted HRMs.

That makes sense, but you also might spend $80 now and then want the new upgrade when it comes out, in which case you'd wind up spending $230.

The Charge still counts steps when my hands are on a shopping cart, but fewer than it would if my hands were swinging free. To help compensate I try to remember to put my Charge in my pocket when shopping. The leg motion helps keep my step count up.

The One is rock solid in performance and consistency. I can't speak to the Flex, but my Charge is a little quirky. It takes longer to synch. It takes longer to recognize sleep patterns. It sometimes credits me with steps and then takes some of them back. Several times I had problems synching with my iPhone that lasted the better part of a day.

Yes. I've done that for maybe five days. One unit will get ahead of the other in step counts. By the end of the day, the One usually shows more steps. The difference is small, though. I think the largest discrepancy was around 500 steps out of 18k total. That's pretty insignificant.0 -
Thank you so much!! What a great and informative response.
I think for now I will stick with the One - it does all I need for now and I the HRM sounds exciting but I remember when purchasing my HRM I was advised to get the chest strap as it had the best accuracy so I will stick with what I know and use.
Once the Charge HR comes out the reviews will change my mind or confirm my decision!
Thank you again!!0 -
Mrs McBoffin tried a charge on in the shop and it's fairly chunky and much less discrete than the flex (if that's something important to you).0

Yes it is thank you!! and the HR is even bigger too I believe. I am not a bracelet person so ya the bigger the band the worse it will be0
