Hey everyone so I am officially 11 days post op and the first week I did really well I dropped 19 pounds and now it's more like a few ounces... some days not any I don't understand why I am not dropping everyday because all I do is drink protein water and eat sugar free Popsicles did anyone else have this same issue?

I was like that --- first two weeks saw quick losses. Then, I stalled. Finally moved again (slowly) and am stalled again. I am trying to assess what I am doing --- working on making sure I get in all the fluids and adding in more cardio. Hang in there! I have also added in tracking of measurements because I have been going down in inches even though the scale is not moving.0

Yeah I am think that my body is just trying to conserve what it can because it is starving so I'm going to try to intake more calories and up my walking time and see if that works hopefully it does0

19 lbs. is a huge amount of weight to drop in one week. I lost 15 lbs. on the 2 week liquid fast just before surgery. The I lost 10 lbs. my first week out and was thrilled with that, but then lost 5 the second week out. Just think of how long it would have taken us to lose that weight before surgery. Celebrate your successes. You are doing great. We are all gonna hit stalls from time to time. Hang in there.0

Tomorrow is my day 11. I noticed this morning that I had only lost 1/2 lb in the last several days. My assumption is that my body is adjusting to the all liquid diet and the fact that the only exercise I'm allowed to do is walk for 10 min at a time, 3x per day. I think once I get to pureed foods and can pick up my activity, my body will start dropping again.0

I actually gained 2-1/2 pounds at the 2-week point. This morning the stall finally broke and I am down. I chalk it up to my body getting used to the new normal.0

Okay I was thinking along the same lines as you all were I just wasn't sure. Im going to try to do things a little different and break up my protein, up h20, and up cardio to see if that helps hopefully it does I really want to lose as much weight as I can within the first six months.0

Don't try to micromanage the daily stuff. Find a pattern that works for you and let the process happen. There will be stalls and whooshes, you're down more than a pound a day since the surgery, that rate is not sustainable and your body will figure things out. Chasing daily goals can't be good for your psyche! Just relax and you will lose plenty of weight.

I thought the same thing here....exactly. I thought about eating back calories after I exercised and all sorts of things. I listened to the folks on here and just decided to let things roll. I did what I was suppose to do and tried not to worry too much. It will fall off trust me. Stalls happen and they will get aggravating but just keep moving forward doing what you're suppose to do and you will be fine.

I'm in the same spot 15 days out. I'm not sure exactly what I've lost since the op, but one week preop to one week post - 15.5 lbs. I weighed in at surgery fully clothed and with my winter coat on. I had been losing a little more than a pound a day, and the last 2-3 nothing. today, .2. It's something, but it freaks me out since I'm adding more to my meals and adding protein. I'm cleared for use of the elliptical I have (without using the arms), so I'll be adding that back in.
Just going let it ride and hope for 8 more by month end.0 -
Thanks everybody for your input and Rob you were so right about the micromanaging everyday. I was on the scale 4-5 times a day and decided that I have to stop freaking out when I see numbers that aren't moving (Now 1 time a day only). I think because I have tried to lose weight in the past and nothing seemed to work I was worried about the surgery not working for me. However I am now 3 weeks out and down 4 more pounds. Before I had surgery I really wanted to lose 30 pounds in one month and I thought that would be a good goal to work for but as I am going through the process and doing what I need to do I realize the weight is going to come off. Patience is a virtue I was unfortunately not blessed with!0
